Description
This is my most recent design of The Abyssinian.He's a merchant and mercenary of sorts, the sort of person who can acquire nearly anything for those willing to pay for it. He is willing to shift allegiances at the drop of a hat but always honors a contract above all things.
I had a very good time making this. His outfit is such fun to draw. Also, I have a kukri knife very much the one he has there.

Do you know the old Amano illustrations for the Final Fantasy 6 game? I remember reading through a friend's game guide and being blown away by the character designs. This character was inspired by my memories of that.

I'm sorry, I added this deviation to my favorites without leaving any comment, which for me is the epitome of rudeness.
This is really impressive on several levels. What I love the most about it is how several shapes and motifs on the character seem to conspire to make the drawing look abstract, as if it were meant to be seen from an entirely aesthetic point of view. And yet, this is a convincing character. Truly excellent.

This character is all about misdirection and layers of concealment, so the aesthetic sense you're getting is entirely in-line with what I was hoping for in this picture (yay!). I really lucked out with this one, I usually don't get so close to what I intend to draw, you know?
