You should try it! It works really well for people who are draftspersons first and foremost (me, for sure), and looking at your art you definitely have a strong drawing style.

Mmm, next time I do a crazy ink page of random stuff I'll shade it with coffee instead of ink.... fun... *inspiration*

Yep! I tried some other stuff this weekend instead (Kahlua and blue raspberry sugar-drink) and they were far less successful. Coffee or tea.

It works really well. Tea or coffee will give you a good stain, and you can use it like watercolor (it does the same thing to paper, so be careful or use thick wet-media paper). If you want a stronger color, you should wait a day or so to use the coffee. Some of the water evaporates, and the remaining coffee is more potent.

Beautiful work, the faces are all so unique. Beardy at the back is my favourite.

I think some of the ways you did the facial structures are marvelous. There's so much variety. My favorite has to be the nearly bald guy with the tuft of hair near the middle. The way you shaded his face is marvelous.

Thanks, I was trying different styles and techniques. Trying to loosen up.
Baldy McScaryteeth is maybe my favorite too.
