Background image for the skybox - used in the game demo 'The Way'.My first attempt at matte painting, yay. Though it's full of inconsistencies, and the perspective is completely off, I think it captures the mood of the game environment very well.

what might help is consistency in the details.... things blur as you move away toward the horizon. The statue in the foreground is WAY too detailed and the color is a bit off from the rest of the background....
Fiddle with the lighting.

I'm not gonna work any more on this particular piece, but I will definitely try to use your advice the next time I venture into matte painting.
