Description I know this is something different from usual.
I'm still currently working on some of the normal abstract pieces but I figured, since flatland was something else that I love oh so much, I'd like to do a flatland piece!

I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.
I rushed it @ the very end a little, being so eager to have it ready for presentation today!
Hopefully I will have a chance to do better for others.
If your a flatlander, & are interested in having a digital image made of you performing, pm me.

Or if you just want to help support me and the sport, buy a print!

enjoy!!!!

This is very cool. There are not enough flatlanders out there. Think you could do one of Chase Gouin? There are plenty of pictures of him out there.

Do you still ride? I don't, but I still love the sport.

gensanity In reply to xDewdropx [2007-07-09 04:30:27 +0000 UTC]

thanks a lot

Yeah I still ride about 30 minutes a day and a lil more on sundays
I will try to find one of Chase Gouin that I can use.
Or if you find a pic of him yourself that you would like best I may do it

If you ware wanting a print or something I think I would have to get permission from him to sell it though?

thanks again.

I've been thinking about doing another one of me soon, maybe with a blue bg and a backwheel trick or something

You're welcome.

That's awesome. I would have never stopped if I didn't fold my leg over...makes walking kind of hard at times.
I did a bit of searching and found a few pics, but they were really small. This is the one I did find that was larger, but I am not sure if it would work. [link] Looking through all that stuff I found out that Aaron Ross is a full Oddysee rider now. I remember riding the half pipe in his back yard like 6 or 7 years ago...now he's pro? Unreal.

I'm not sure about the print stuff. [link] This is his myspace if you want to ask him.

I'll keep an eye out if you post anymore.

it's a little blurry but I could do that.

Did you see the one I did of Peter Hollinger?
I made it to enter in a sick child t-shirt contest for a free frame, but lost.
Was still fun to do though

[link]

The face puking in the top right is my son, and the rider at the bottem left is peter.
Some day when I have some spare time I'm going to color it and make prints and possibly shirts.

I'm working on some other stuff now but that pic you found is Sick and I would love to redo it. As soon as I'm ready to give it a go I will try to get a hold of chase and get is ok. Thanks!

xDewdropx In reply to gensanity [2007-07-09 05:58:11 +0000 UTC]

I did not see that. I would buy it if it was on a shirt. It is alot different than most designs you see. How many ways can you put a logo across a shirt before it gets stale? That has some flavor. Very well done.

Cool. Chase seems like a really cool guy. He writes poetry and believes riding is an artform. I don't think he would have any problems with it. After I found this I went looking on youtube for clips and found this. [link] He has an interview at the beginning. Its kind of funny listening to him describe tricks and how to do them. For him, he might as well be describing how to walk. Linking tricks for him is like putting one foot in front of another for other people.

I saw your bike in scraps. It looks almost exactly like my friend Randy's...except the seat. Are those Bizhouse O rings for the grips and plastic pedals? He used to run the same setup.

gensanity In reply to xDewdropx [2007-07-09 09:23:02 +0000 UTC]

yeah I have odi longneck grips with a few bizhouse grip rings on each side of the grip, and the pedals are gt. The frame, cranks, Pedals and chain were loaned to me from a friend named Jeremy who since moved to Oklahoma and changed his cell. I'm going to have a hard time finding him but my new Class X frame is coming in this week, along with a new crankset and pedals n stuff.. So i will finally be able to give it back to him. But yeah the frame is a micromachine.

I'm a fan of all things BMX, and have been since 1982 when all my friends started riding. Me too, but had to borrow their bikes. lol Didn't really get into until returning stateside in 85. Then a little movie came out called RAD....ahhhhhh the memories. Anyways, love this piece. It's in my favorites now.

Well, I liked the Pros, mainly Eddie Fiola, in the beginning and end watching them do their stuff....and there was Lori Laughlin too. Buy yeah....looking back at it now, bad acting and all that stuff, but who cares....I'm in it for the bikes. lol

since i blatantly hate abstract art, i found this a refreshing change in your gallery. the composition is great, at first glance you almost don't see that the rider is tricking the bike backwards; very solid.

heheh, thanks

glad you @ least like something in my gallery
In the future i plan on diving deep into anatomy and architecture. the plan is to mix those with my abstract style but i'm sure i will do some realistic stuff too

thanks for the kind words

Accordiankeys [2006-05-19 21:20:39 +0000 UTC]

i like it so much because- the colors. colors are important to me because sometimes my shitty drawing can be helped a little by good coloring. they balance really well, like the guy on the bike. it's just very nice and very pleasing to my eye. i would like to have a poster of it to hang in my room, my friend would like it. he does biking and things like that. it's nice. good job.

In going through your gallery, I haven't had much to say. Mostly because I know very little about graphic design and the work involved. I do enjoy your drawings/sketches, even thought they're not really my style of art. THIS, however, caught my eye. I am very impressed with this. As all the others say, it really looks like an ad. Very well done. Maybe you could do these for money, and then your other art for fun? I don't know.

Nice bike by the way, I"m in the process of building a couple for some friends.

I actually, hope to be able to do some similar to this style of some pro flat riders, if I can ever get their permission..
I'm sure if I could actually get some of some pro riders I might be able to sell some
