Description Another shot of the lovely Poly This time I used a mirror I got the idea from *editha although his pics with a mirror are much better (he uses the sky in his mirrors(very cool)) Go check him out if you get a minute Anyways, I kinda like it might try more things with this technique

To know more about Poly you can read it in my journal here>>>>>[link]

Polyphemus Moth is one of our biggest moths, growing up to a 5 1/2 inch wingspan. [link] Properly Antheraea polyphemus, this giant of a moth is named after the legendary Cyclops of the same name from Homer's Odyssey. (Remember - the fierce one-eyed giant who lived in a cave and tended sheep and ate straying sailors?) These large moths are found in the Puget Sound area, though they are not terribly common; in fact, they're nearly extinct in areas with lots of street lights. When you only have a week to mate and lay your eggs, wasting time circling a light (and making a tempting banquet for bats) is not healthy! [link] and [link]

Yeah, this is a stunner. My wife and I had a really gorgeous Io moth come into our back patio last year - and I thought IT was beautiful! The trick here is you thought it through and caught not only a photograph of a beautiful animal - but also a truly beautiful photograph in and of itself. It's just gorgeous! A far cry from my "io moth on a blue wall" pic...!!! LOL... You saw the shot and executed it perfectly.

Awesome, awesome work!

- bacchus.

Thank you I was too, the one I'm using is an oval dressing table mirror with flower handles. I need to get off my lazy ass and go to the hardware store and get a couple tile mirrors. Think I'll do that Monday
