Description
IlfordHP5+ 35mm FilmLately I’ve been playing with macro, if you stick a standard lens mounted in reverse in front of my fuji's fixed lens the result is a 1:1 macro lens.
I added the Vignetting (dark edges) to three sides to even out the photo, the third side was caused the 2nd lens.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and those who pay attention will notice I’m trying a different style of border.
Edits in Photoshop CS2: Burn, RAW conversion, contrast/Brightness and Border
Equipment: Manfrotto tripod, stepping ring (58 to 49mm) and Pentax Lens (length unknown) Metz 36C-2 Flashgun and Diffuser

Not too sure I like the border, but it does work in this case... probably not with any other of you shots, in my opinion. I agree with the previous person on the vignetting... maybe just lessen the intensity and barely burn them to pull the viewer in, instead of being so dark because hopefully when people look at the image their eye goes straight to that white sprocket within the film.
Have you been shooting film recently?

First off, thanks for the useful comment. The border was mostly an experiment and I wanted to see people opinions of it though I think you right, this wouldn't work with most of my other shots.
As for the vignetting perhaps i over-processed it. Like i said, the bottom left corner was caused by the second lens, but the other three corners didn't need to be burnt as much. I'm hoping that I'll have fixed that problem once i find a place that stocks macro couplers, eliminating the vignetting.
I used to shoot film a bit but not much anymore, this was an old roll I developed in my photography class. Thanks again!

Macro is very cool; one of my favourite forms of photography. I think this would have looked better without the fadeout in the corners of the shot, though. Oh well.

yeah true, like i said part of it was caused by the lens and was in debate if i should add them in or leave them out. Thanks
