Description
This is a (belated) birthday gift to *Catula .While wondering what to draw, I remembered what I had done last year for him: drew a character I had never drawn before. So I decided to keep with the theme and draw Finn from Adventure Time. I thought maybe I could try explaining how his limbs can bend or curve at seemingly any position, so I came up with the idea for his posture in the last panel first. But it felt empty, like he needed a conversation partner. So I figured, heck, why not draw two characters I've never drawn before? Then there needed to be a dialogue exchange, and well... this happened. More than 20 hours of sketching, digitizing, adjusting, and conjoining later, here is one of my all-time favourite works. This was incredibly fun to make. I hope you like it as much as I liked creating it.
Happy (belated) birthday, Cris!

I'm sure... we all do. Even that guy at Walmart who said "Welcome to Walmart, get your sh*t and get out." Walter makes me smile.

You draw these characters so well for your first time.

Aww, thank you! I don't often draw new characters, mostly because when I do, I'm far too meticulous, so I don't know how long it will take to produce something satisfactory. But when an idea hits that you just have to make real, all the hard work becomes a fun challenge.

There is no such thing as septuple-jointed.
I'm quadruple-jointed, though.

That's why cartoons are awesomeβthey take all the rules from the real world as merely suggested guidelines.

Well, there ya go. I think Finn may have sparked some horror in Isabella there, but it's nice and funny either way.

Yeah, me too. I also wish your arms did that.
That'd be awesomeβyou could unclog your own kitchen sink. Not that you'd want to, of course.

I don't even know.
I'd probably run up behind people and freak them out.
Something weird like that, it's the only logical thing to do.

"Septuple" means "seven times"; it's like double, triple, quadruple, and so on. So "septuple-jointed" means having seven joints (like elbows). It's also a play on the phrase "double-jointed", though that definition doesn't extrapolate quite how this comic implies.

Ahahaha, this is great! A classic visual gag with two great characters!
Nicely drawn for having never drawn either character before! I absolutely love it.

I'm so glad you like it! I'm also glad I pushed myself to draw new characters and make this one of the most awesome drawings I've ever done. Your friendship is worth this and more!
