Another piece for my AP Art concentration! Whee!I finished this awhile back, but I'm pretty lazy when it comes to uploading things. The lady being portrayed is a Masai woman who has killed & beheaded a lion. Among the Masai, killing a lion is considered a revered action. I don't know if they actually behead the lions & I don't think girls actually hunt or kill the lions.
Inspired by the movie The Ghost & the Darkness (1996) with Val Kilmer. The movie was about the famous tsavo maneaters. [link]

I admit, I don't usually go for tribal pieces like this but this is beautiful! The colors are wonderful (bones creep me out a bit but it fits the pic). Well done!!

Excellent work, great colours and fantastic feeling of depth.
My only complaint would be the lion head. Compared to the rest of the picture it seems a little flat and could do with a few darker colours to give it more depth.
Great work overall though.

the lighting is what makes it i think, bathing her in the setting sun is so appealling, love her confident expression and the way her clothes lie - the highlights on the skulls are so evocative! good sense of texture and such rich colours, nice to see some new stuff from you!
