I had to keep a journal whilst doing this piece of artwork, which also included taking photos. This pic turned out pretty awesome. I love the lighting.Related content

Yes this is charcoal
It was for a school project. I was originally going to the picture in oils, but ran out of time. But still, using the charcoal was hard because it is very smudgy lol

Yeah I dont really like using charcoal and I respect when someone knows how to use it well...so good job!

wow, thank you!! I love charcoal. Its harder than graphite (cuz of the smudging) but I think it makes artwork a lot more bolder than what graphite can do

Yes. You do need patience. And faith. When I was doing this piece, a little bit of it smudged and I thought the world was gonna end lol. After all that hard work... But i just had to keep on going, and re-do what was messed up
i got there in the end of course.
