I've seen many different ways to get a nice pot for a flower but this one is the one I want to have in my garden, if I had one or have a little army of boot pots on my balcony... if only I had one of those as well.
But I guess moss created on the surfase of an old boot or shoe with a little bit help of a sour milk wouldn't be as inspirational as the original one.
Thank you for sharing!

And thank you, Marjo, for visiting. I'm pleased that you found this photo interesting. I was walking in New Zealand on a rather rainy day, when I came across this old boot, growing moss, and looking well worn.

Thanks Ms E for the nice comments, and for the on this photo. Yes, I just came across this old boot someone had left out in the rather wet climate of New Zealand's north island, not far from the little village of Te Awamutu. And, yes, I'm very lucky to be able to travel as much as I do. Often it's for work, and sometimes it's tiring or stressful, but...it's always fascinating, always an education. Coming up: Atlanta, Chicago, Hong Kong, Bangkok and some time in rural Thailand. I'll post the pictures for you...!

This boot, in New Zealand, did grow moss. It's rather wet in that part of NZ, and someone had left this boot out in the rain in a small forested area. And thanks for that

Thanks, and I hope you're right about this. Since there are over 300,000 known species of beetles, the evidence is on your side -- and nature's.

Beautiful shot dT! I love the composition, color and focus. The moss on the boot just tells me how lush it is there in New Zealand. Can't wait for more!

That is an impressive boot! Is that a flower inside?
It reminds me of an artificial reef - except on land.
...as always, your choice of words is perfect.

Thanks, Ms. M...and, yes, I think there was some kind of flower growing in the boot. I like the metaphor of an "artificial reef"...
