\\ H I S T O R Y //

Baby Dragonet > Everglade and her siblings were born unimportant and poor, they grew up together, having to learn to hunt and survive as one. They protected each other, they didn’t have a home and they took care of each other. They lived in the mud kingdom, traveling from place to place, as long as it sheltered them they called it home. They were never able to get jobs, and so they continued to be poor, having to survive in the cruel world.

Dragonet > As they got older, it became harder to survive without money. They needed more food and a place to go when it was cold or it was raining. Similarly, due to their lack of a home, they had never read before, because they had never had access to a scroll. One day, during a particularly heavy storm, one of Ever’s sibs, Lake, was just below a tree. The tree was knocked down by the wind, but their big wing’s, Sap, pushed her out of the way. He was crushed by the tree and paralyzed by it. He couldn’t be their big wing’s anymore, and so Everglade took over. She knew she had to take Sap to a doctor, so she flew to a town for help. The doctor treated Sap, but they didn’t do it for free. Now in debt, the sibs started to do any jobs they could. They worked endless hours, scraping enough money to pay the doctor. Everglade worked extra hard, as their big wing’s she felt it was her responsibility. After nearly a year of working, they finally paid off their debt and were able to return back to normal life. Sap’s wings, legs, and tail were paralyzed, but he was able to drag himself with his front legs. The sibs traveled by land for him, and Ever did whatever she could to protect them. Whenever they got to towns, she would always use her charisma and looks to convince dragons to give them food and shelter. She did what she could to survive, and keep her sibs healthy.

>One day, Everglade and her sibs were sleeping deep inside a cave as it poured outside. Ever was keeping watch, incase any dragon came. Shockingly, a dragon did come. She watched silently from behind a stalagmite and saw as a mysterious hooded dragon stashed bunches of jewels inside a hole in the wall. Everglade waited for the dragon to leave and then went to investigate. She realized how much was there, and that it was obviously stolen. Without a second thought, Ever took it to her siblings and explained what had happened. She was going to go to the nearby town and find the guard and return it to them. Her sibs were a little hesitant, trying to convince her to just take the treasure. Even though Everglade was slightly compelled, she did the noble thing and took the treasure to the nearby town. After some searching, she found members of the Blood Squad, and she explained what had happened. They were shocked, as they had been searching for that thief for a while. They thanked her for returning the treasure and asked her to show them where it had happened. She brought them to the cave and showed them the hole, and then from there, the guards deduced what way he went. She followed after them, and once they found the dragon she helped corner him. The two Blood Squad dragons flew him back to the town and invited Everglade to come along. She did, and after they had sent the thief off they explained their thanks and offered to write to the queen for her. Shocked, she agreed, and the members wrote a letter explaining what had happened and giving Eve's name. After this, Everglade returned to her sibs and explained what had happened, they were surprised and a little nervous about the queen. How would she react? What if she gave them a reward? After a few days, the guards found her again and gave her a letter. It was from the queen, explaining her gratitude and how she was impressed by Everglade's noble actions, and that she was going to recommend her to the University. Everglade was shocked, she had heard some things about the school but it had felt like more of a myth. She realized, however, that Sap wouldn't be able to come with her to the Isle. She was planning on refusing, and staying with her sibs, but they insisted. It would be a great opportunity for her, and she would be able to help them once she got a job with that education. Finally, Everglade agreed to go, and everything was set. She traveled to the Isle and was ready to join the University.
