If ever there's a Season 2 of this, I bet one of two things are going to happen:
1: It'll be revealed that this demon is an impostor and the real Stocking is still chilling out up in Heaven, or
2: Gainax goes full troll again and retcons the entire scene as a bad dream or some shit, effectively turning it into the world's biggest Big-Lipped Alligator Moment.

Personally, i think Stocking has been possessed or something. Lets look at the reason why she can't be demon:
She wouldn't be able to use the angel transformation;
If she is a demon she wouldn't be Panty's sister, which she obviously is as she recognized Panty's mom as her mom;
When a demon kills a ghost it comes back stronger when she killed a ghost it's gone for good;
She doesn't have horns;
She wouldn't have been accepted into heaven;
There you have it, 5 reasons why she can't be a demon

I have some theories, personnally :
1 : The real Stocking never came back to Earth, and an evil doppelganger of her appeared instead. She then pretended to be the real Stocking until she had a good opportunity to get rid of Panty.
2 : Some time after Corset's defeat, he managed to come back, kidnap Stocking, and replace her with a fake.
3 : Corset managed to brainwash Stocking into slicing Panty up , and believing she's a demon, or claiming that she is in order to confuse Brief and Garterbelt.
4 : This epilogue is just a load of bullshit made up by Gainax as a giant joke, and the next season will start as if those last minutes never happened.

Panty wasn't, Stocking is all of a sudden. Panty may lost her power but she recovered, it's hard for me to know about her but Stocking is easily described.
But most of all, in such a fatal flaw, why would holy or unholy weapons can turn against each other rather than just only the opposing force.
