Description

This is my entry for A1L33N 's design contest. Here you should create a character using this moodboard.

Actually, I first thought about a griffin, but since there was already one, it became my second idea. The snakes in the moodboard reminded me quite quickly of a chimera, but since the moodboard does not give dark vibes, I came up with a more sacred chimera.

It's a common chimera, consisting of a lion, some goat accents (I never really liked the goat part of a chimera ... so you have to search for those parts xD) and a snake/dragon. It can also breathe fire, as it is at least partially the case in mythology. However, only the snake part of it is able to do that. The snake is wild, aggressive and malicious, but the lion is extremely peaceful and downright majestic. He is not able to breathe fire, the only thing he exhales is cloud-like smoke, maybe even real clouds. He is supposed to be an opposite of the snake in some ways.

The whole creature is called Xidion (χίδιον), the two individuals do not separate between each other

Xi: from the Greek word χίμαιρα - chímaira meaning chimera

di: from the Greek word φίδι - fídi meaning snake

on: from the Greek word λιοντάρι - liontári meaning lion

Well, I really don't know Greek at all, so I hope everything is correct.
