Description Finished in 2005, July. Objective: over all check for painting.

Wing Knight, is a sky unit of the dark side, in these old fantasy simulation games Elthlead/The Emblem of Gaia. Player commands the light side to wipe out the dark side, which is quite convensional style.
We just kill all of dark side units, but what if we think about the war dead in the dark side? Master N, a friend of mine, originaly thought about the idea 15 years ago(!), and he made a rough sketch of the scene, though I don't remember what it was.(I remember his idea, but not his picture at all)
Anyway I borrowed his idea. Reality, the feel of materials, blood and dirt are better than I expected. BG, conposition, perspective, could be more improved. (weak points XD)

Though a bit bloody, I'd be happy if you liked it.

Finally does anyone know if there is an English word(should be one, literary word) which corresponds to "cry bitterly, emotionally, with regret, sorrow, and sometimes anger"? I'd been looking for the proper word and was unable to find one. That's why I put the Japanese title "Doukoku".

i'd say "weep" or "lament". lament is good. dante used it all through the inferno. the coloring is amazing! you managed to the sunlight without losing the intensity of the scene. the blood isn't too much. you could probably add more. you could probably take it out all together because the composition is so well defined people would get it immediately.

Dante used it in the inferno, this is good info^^ And thank you for your comment! Yes, sunlight was one of which I had to treat carefully, not to break whole atmosphere.^^

Wew, truly great emotion Sure, sure, so elements COULD be better... but do they NEED to be? You've got a great work here, the fact you still can see yourself getting better is intriguing ^_^ Makes me all the more read to see the next work

I do think "Lament" would be a pretty good word for an english equivalent, btw. or even "Mourning" could work for the mood... DId I mention these colors are wonderful with this mood? The sun is usually a symbol of hope and "a bright new days", but your lighting here brings out a fresh, original mood ^_^

Thanks for the motivation, I think I have to try my hand at making the "Live House" (As seen in King of Fighters: Maximum Impact and Mark of the Wolves) for my SNK pic now -walks off chanting "must do backgrounds, must do backgrounds!"-

Well, first of all, thanks for the elaborate comment, as always!

I could have added some troops which survived the battle, to give it more reality. However, this addition could have broken whole balance as well, so I gave up the idea. That's why I said it could be improved. But as you mentioned, I think it doesn't need more. ^^

Many suggest the word "lament" for the case, so I'll keep this word. THX!!

So the next is your turn! I hope to see your next work soon ^^ And I gotta thank you for the motivation as well!

WAHHHHH!!!! That is an AWESOME work!! Favs

慟哭 means 'wailing' or to wail. But that word is hardly ever used.
I think the people above are right, 'lament' would sound better

Thank you~~

Hmm, I once saw an expression "as siren wailed..." in TIME, but I didn't know if if was a literary word, or more like colloquial. You look to be bi(or,even multi)lingual, so this was a great help. Another thanks! ^^/

It didn't take too long at all to produce another outstanding piece of art. Just a wonderful composition that truely reflect the sorrow of the character. If that is one of your weak points, it is not weak at all .
Your painting is superb, without question. Your shadowing and highlights really make your attention to detail stand out even more.

Really exceptional work. I definately like it

You and your lovely coloring skills.. so pretty! x3

You should take a look at [link] and type in "cry".
As mentioned before me, the words "lament" and "weep" could be the words you're looking for.. "wail" seems good too. Though in this situation, I think "lament" is the best word.

Thank you!! XDXD

Yes, the words "lament""weep""wail" are what I found in dictionary, but I was not sure if these were literary words. Thanks for showing the link, and your opinion ^^

I really like the soft lighting in this. You put a lot of emotion into her pose and expression, and the background adds a lot to the atmosphere.

"Lament" or "weep" might work for that definition.

I tried to make it kinda soft and tender, so it was successful.
