Ahhh the feeling of completing a painting... mainly its the pain I feel in my lower back from bending over this thing. This as you might have already figured out its from castlevania 3 in the opening sequence. I thought it was awesome and so I painted it, wanna fight about it?! Its a two canvas painting that consists of double 16x20's, contains only a handful of colors and has a freaking lot of pixels. Im tired and i hope you love it. Im going to bed now

theres a lot of consistency in old nes trilogies. like *cough Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Adventure Island, I'd probably make the same mistakes. However I play toooo much Castlevania.

What do you think are the best? I'd say Simon's Quest and Sotn.

SOTN is THE BEST. I would argue fine points, but SOTN simply is the most detailed, time consuming, fun, replay value, etc, etc. It's one of the games you wish wouldn't end. If they remade it with a 3rd castle, you'd bet I'd be there. Thats why I went nuts over GBA titles, but none of them held a candle to SOTN. I'm currently playing the "remastered" one on PSP. There are things I like and don't like about it. The voice overs are now less involved and the dialogue is politically correct. The ending song isn't "I Am The Wind". Which I don't like, I like the old song; even though I'm a metal head. They didn't add the Sega Saturn levels, or any new levels. They did add Maria as a playable character, revamped her moves and stuff. You even fight her as a boss. They added the two Japanese familiars, and upped the drop rate on everything.
Castlevania II is awesome. It's the hardest of the series I think. Last time I played it I was 14. 22 now. So... lol. I do remember getting every ending, and being disappointed in the final boss. I'd like to say III is my favorite on NES, and although I beat II - I never beat III until recently. I do know if you beat it with Trevor and Sypha they get all lovey dovey. Even though throughout the game they say Sypha is a dude. Castlevania 1 is too easy for me.
On SNES, I always thought Dracula X rocked, until I played Rondo of Blood on PSP, and learned Dracula X is a reinterpretation of Rondo of Blood. However, I still like Dracula X. If I ever find it to own, I'd probably play the living hell out of it. I liked Castlevania IV mainly because of the whip. But, thats about it. The one on Genesis was kinda novelty to me.
The N64 ones are bastard children. Well, they're ok I guess.
Haven't played the DS ones or any of the PS2.
I really enjoyed the limited edition Castlevania Chronicles for PSX.
Its the only Castlevania you get an herb sub weapon to turns hearts into health.
