This is a wonderful photo, and probably my favourite out of the two. I don't know, the framing of the pose is just a little bit tighter which sets it a little above for me.
It's an interesting subject matter as body language can be very hard to read. Different cultures have different gestures for certain things for instance. It's like a combination of primal instincts, but bread with all of the complications of culture. It has to go through culture to get an interpretation and thus get meaning. Subtle is definitely a suitable adjective in this case.
Any ways, great photo. Made me think and ponder, always a positive thing

As always, I'm happy when you approve -- thank you! And thanks, as well, for the thoughtful comment. Of course, you're right about certain gestures that become conventional: with agreed upon public meanings, like verbal language.
But what about when we move our bodies, especially the hands, more 'personally': as spontaneous externalizing / expressing / interpreting our inner sense of things? But likely there's no complex behavior entirely free of cultural influence . . .
So you see, I've been thinking more about it, too . . . though I wouldn't claim that's always a positive thing!
Thanks again, g

elegant posing, especially of the hands - and to do this by yourself, with a timer
