Description Aww, isn't she cute?

The angle was her idea, and it worked out really well.

A la mother-fucking myspace. Little miss scene herself. Not that I have a problem with scene.

I don't think anyone has a problem with scene when they look like this.

Great thing about taking photos from this angle, is you can look right down her top and pretending your just mulling over the f/stop to use.

Not that i would do that of course.

Fuck no.

So, yeh this was also taken in the forest behind my house. Same as Go down to the woods today .

Meri's making a second contribution to this photo.

When I asked her I should put, she said "Why write a long description? Why not just put 'Look! Photo!'?"

As much as I love her, sometimes she can be a little useless.

I ask her 'so what do you want from the pictures?' and she simply tells me I'm the photographer. We arranged it the night before at some god-unearthly hour. Well, sometime after midnight. Not that bad I guess. I searched up some fashion shots and whatever, but I'm more interested in the model than in the clothes.

Anyone can wear nice clothes. Meri, however, is beautiful in her own way. Inside and out.

Not that she acknowledges it. Or will let anyone tell her it either. She's one of those people who doesn't really recognise how gorgeous she is.

Not really much else to say about this shot.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop talking.

So, who likes the bokeh of my lens? I knew I'd love this lens as soon as found out about it. Fixed focal length lenses. The fucking way to go.

How about I try writing a sentance that lasts longer than a single line.

Fuck no.

This is the first time I've used vignetting as a tool in my photos. And I like it. Might use it more often.

I feel this is very sligtly =jmonzani -esque. Which is good, because I admire him as a photographer.

I don't usually submit in colour. But I couldn't helpt it.

Meri is colour. Well. Colourful.

Full fucking stop.

I'll leave it here.

i like the shallow DOF putting emphasis on her face. it also is a great way to make ANY photo look professional and... stuff.

GFXPunk In reply to sparkpenguin [2006-08-14 08:07:51 +0000 UTC]

The ability to control DOF is probably the biggest difference between an SLR and a compact. So, yeh it probably is the easiest way to make something like professional.

sparkpenguin In reply to GFXPunk [2006-08-14 08:27:29 +0000 UTC]

that's why the SLR is the way to go. though lots of people use digital media now...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GFXPunk In reply to sparkpenguin [2006-08-14 09:19:23 +0000 UTC]

You can get digital SLRs.. I use one for the most part *shrug*

sparkpenguin In reply to GFXPunk [2006-08-14 10:34:05 +0000 UTC]

ah i wasn't aware; i usually don't look at the camera makes. i don't even know how to get one to display when submitting, so... that's how digital i am
and yeah the photos take the same, pretty much, same procedure but it's just... different... y'know?

granted the total analog world is becoming a pain in the ass with all the old technology being phased out by something shiny that has itunes and myspace options with it but... slowing down is good sometimes... worth dealing with "darkroom smell."

I want a Leica M7, a film rangefinder camera. They're just so... gorgeous. It'll be a real commitment to photography, but well worth it. I think +cweeks uses an M7, but he might use the M4-P. Whatever, I want a rangefinder.

I also want a Leica digital-module-R. Film and digital camera rolled into one, I think it's 12 Megapixels and just gorgeous in general.

sparkpenguin In reply to GFXPunk [2006-08-17 05:52:16 +0000 UTC]

the film and digital seems like a wasted investment to me; i imagine 80% of the folks buying it would let the film chamber gather dust forever a month after buying the damn thing

GFXPunk In reply to sparkpenguin [2006-08-18 09:23:17 +0000 UTC]

I use digital more, but I do use film and it'd be cool have one camera that can do both.... but I know what you mean.

Great photo. The dark corners deffinately draw your eye into the photo and to the subject. She's very pretty

Taragon [2006-08-08 23:53:27 +0000 UTC]

Very good job! And the darker corners make the subject stand out so well too By the way, how do you use vignetting and what does it do? I might know very well what it is though, except for the name..hehe.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GFXPunk In reply to Taragon [2006-08-14 08:09:08 +0000 UTC]

Vignetting is when you have dark corners , where the light doesn't reach the film/the CCD screen.

Taragon In reply to GFXPunk [2006-08-19 21:25:07 +0000 UTC]

Ah..of course I thought you meant the slight distortion that sometimes appear when using 12mm or so...
