$y2jenn suggested that I start keeping track of how the appearance of my characters change over time, just so I can have a visual record. I sketched up this one and coloured it in Photoshop. From the looks of things, Myrmidon has gotten much heavier in the past two years, and his beard has gotten shorter. The bronze loop next to his belt buckle is gone, but aside from that I don't think I've changed anything about his clothing. One of these days I need to sit down and re-do his ref sheet.

Yeah, I realize I made his head a bit big and his arms a bit small. I gotta fix that one of these days.

You've moved the eyes apart a bit, which gives it a more realistic quality. Although I did quite like that cartoonish style, I think it's an improvement.

Hmm, cool! Good idea! For some reason RIPPER sees Myrmidon snorting from time to time.

This one looks the most capable of all! RIPPER can see GH Mongo's skills have gotten sharper!

Well, most of the time we draw from memory and the feeling of the moment rather than reference images, so it's only natural. Though we do sometimes deliberately redesign.

I'm still getting adjusted to painting entirely in PS; I used to do all my CG stuff in Painter, but my copy of Painter 9 doesn't like Vista.

ah,, i hear that actually is a big problem, but it was the same way when they came out with xp. you can allso try messing with the hard brush at low opacity to get sharper details like in the beard. you're also a traditional painter, i know you got a good stroke in yah
