Description
Scraps, only uploaded for dA help desk, filed report on 26 Aug 08- 8 Favourites received, only 4 registered on the actual deviation (the image does show up in the deviant's favourite galleries)
- 5 Favourites listed in favourites pop-up window, only 4 registered on the deviation.

Sorry to hear that, I've never encountered this before
I'm having a bit of a debate with dA about it since the first reply I received was highly nondescript.
On the bright side, I can't believe the amount of views this has gotten actually

This has to do with the lag that we can sometimes encounter with recently submitted deviations and the search itself as a whole.

Yeah, I got that one as well. In the mean time they've admitted to:
"The search system is responsible for keeping deviations in your gallery and a whole host of other things. The issue that it can fall behind is known and has been known and mentioned in the status forum for several months. Unfortunately it is an issue which will require a complete reworking of the search system hence it can take a long time to be resolved."
It would have been so much easier if they had stated, "we're not able to fix it at this time" the first time around

If you have a bit of history on when this started happening and how many you've lost on each day since uploading it might be a good idea to add in a comment there, she's keeping track that way.

Actually I don't think it will, it seems to me that it can't keep track of all favourites being offered at certain times and those simply lose out. I noticed a couple actually getting bumped of the list, about 40% on that image didn't register or disappeared. If it was something that was tracked properly it should be relatively easy to fix. Then again, I don't know dAs database structure and search functions, they might work differently from what I imagine but I can't really see why they would. I noticed that it only happens to images I upload at night (US daytime) so it's clearly a lag issue.

It is isn't it, not sure if it's only happening to this image or all over dA. In case of the latter ... get ready for some dArama!
