Description
7/2017 Update:Well look at that, history is repeating itself.
For context for those not aware: this was made during the last time the FCC attempted to dismantle Net Neutrality at the behest of telecom lobbyists in 2014. The head of the FCC at the time was Tom Wheeler, a former telecom lobbyist.
To Mr. Wheeler's great credit, he actually did listen to the public outcry and changed his stance after coming to understand the public implications of dismantling net neutrality.
He's even gone so far as to recently defend Title II classification against Ajit Pai .
Pai, on the other hand, has made it pretty clear where his loyalties lie (not the public). So... here we go again?
Original (2014):
A piece I did for an illustration class recently, about the FCC's current attempt to destroy net neutrality.

The internet was fine before 2015. This scare tactic from Reddit is just that, a scare tactic. Does it not make you suspicious how consumer friendly it actually is if Google, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and even George Soros are promoting them? Has the internet become for censored or more free since 2015?
Check out The Truth Factory channel(with based cat) she does a good overview and helps bring up how the net neutrality debate is a tough one with pro's and con's for both sides. channel/UC2aQGaCZjQC1lM3DOwbCIFw

Since small companies can start up, whilst I do believe there are cons, it's better than having some websites being slowed down or blocked.

I said it once and I'll say it again, wealthy people are fucking the worse people on this earth. They'll sell and eat your damn children if it means a gain or win for them.
Seriously fuck these assholes. But this is what happens when people have way too much goddamn power and control...The sad thing about it is, we let them do this stuff to us. Because it seems like
the only solution is sending stupid worthless petitions that will get ignored.

The nerve of these people! What is it with these wealthy few always trying to put a strangle on the rest of us? These big corporations see something popular and they try to change and capitalize on it without giving a second thought to what made the thing popular I the first place until its original self has all but vanished. They're acting like bigot children about this. If they put a clamp on the internet, they'll likely just end up losing a major population and all their efforts would be of little benefit if not worthless. Honestly, the world would be such a better place if everybody wasn't trying to screw over everybody else.

The FCC doesn't understand what they are doing, and if they succeed this time, it'll start a chain reaction that could eventually undo the internet itself, forcing the digital world and it's respective markets to collapse onto itself.
The digital world and everything connected to it (a.k.a. Human beings) continues to spin and thrives BECAUSE the internet IS neutral.

I never thought we'd have to go through this fight all over again so soon after the last time, and I feel far less hopeful of the outcome. This is the most harmful administration ever put in power, and they're just getting started.

I know precisely what you mean. I certainly never thought that this would be so precisely relevant again (and so soon at that). And there really is less room for hope this time, it seems.
But there's still some, which means we keep speaking up and hope for rationality and empathy to win out. That's all that matters in the end.

that's pretty accurate to most things about free speech and free expression and other things. kind of like, "you should always be yourself. as long as 'yourself' is socially acceptable."

that's pretty much my life. everyone is like, "always be yourself!" and teachers will say that I should be creative and blah blah blah. but 'myself' is extremely violent actions, alongside violent and sexual art and writing. I'm not a bad person, the violent and sexual art is just for fun and helps me vent, when I'm away from my friends or animals.
sorry, I just needed to rant a bit here. ;
