So in case anyone forgot, way back in Volume 4 when Yang's prosthetic arm was first introduced they made a point of showing that Yang was very reluctant to put on the new arm. Also, probably to keep the prosthetic a surprise all of the Volume 4 promotional material depicted Yang with one arm. That actually got me thinking: what if as part of her recovery process Yang took longer to accept the new arm, like she felt unworthy of it, and trained to fight without it and even learned to fight with her stump. Sort of a way for her to come to terms with her loss and accept her new arm as just another tool/weapon and not something she could not live without...And I will just drop the facade right now, I just really wanted to see Yang beat someone senseless with just her right arm stump because that sounded simultaneously hilarious and badass. I am not criticizing how the story actually progressed, so if you plan on commenting just to bitch about the writing do not. I decided I might as well draw this scenario since it is looking less and less likely it will ever happen in the show proper. I also took the opportunity to knock some humility into Jacques Schnee and make what I feel to be a long overdue Red vs. Blue reference. Jaune (pales as the Energy Shield runs out of juice): (panicked) Wait: it ran out of... (screams out in pain as he's hit by the tank shell, though thankfully his aura managed to protect him)
Boomstick: (smirks) Now if the Energy Shield HAD been there, Jaune would have been fine

Cordovin: (flabbergasted) How...HOW did you get results like that?!
Raven: (shrugs) As strained as my relationship with my brother is, and how I'm STILL working some things out with Yang, Ruby, and the others, I know that leadership is all about give and take: you like to do a LOT of taking, but you're not too fond of the "giving" part
Qrow: (chuckles) Again, can't believe I'm saying this, but she's right: if you start believing in THEM, maybe they'll start believing in YOU

Qrow: (sighs as he watches her walk off in a huff) Worst part is, I'm not entirely sure if my semblance is to blame for this (it says a lot about his emotional state that he doesn't even comment when Raven gives him a comforting pat on the back)

2) at this point in time, Raven has managed to make enough of a connection with Yang and Ruby that the former is comfortable calling her "Mom" again and the latter has taken to calling her "Auntie Raven", though needless to say Qrow hasn't quite forgiven her for everything
3) just for the record, Yang and Raven have run through a few drills that the latter went through back when she was leading the Bandits as a way of bonding: Ruby occasionally joins in, while Qrow keeps a close eye on things to make sure that the kids are safe and/or that Raven doesn't try anything malicious (don't worry: they are, and she hasn't); side note: I'll just leave it to you what those battle techniques entail

Winter (readies her weapon, as two of the enemy soldiers that had been knocked out of the fight started to regain consciousness): (huffs) At the moment, working on our extraction: they actually should be here right about... (lowers her gun as a Warthog, driven by Nora and the rest of Team JNPR while playing some VERY familiar music, comes barreling over the hill, taking out the two soldiers as it does; Winter gives a nod) NOW!
Nora: (turns off the radio and looks to the group with a smug smile) Sup?
Raven: (nods to the downed soldiers) Not that we don't appreciate the timely arrival, I thought for sure that the rest of...Yang's team*2* was right behind you
Yang: (looks around) Yeah, Mom's*3* right: what happened to Ruby and the others?
Ren (not quite noticing the annoyed and pleased expressions on Qrow and Raven respectively*3*): (quirks an eyebrow) That's odd: they were supposed to be right behind us

1) in this version of the narrative, things got a little messy while Qrow was trying to clear his name, to put it lightly, which needless to say it greatly hurt Yang and Ruby's ability to trust him afterwards: "Say what you will about your sister, BRAWNWIN: when push comes to shove, she at least manages to still have something resembling a sense of honor!" was what was said by RUBY of all people after she nearly had her head taken off by her Uncle's scythe during a particularly ugly confrontation between them and enemy forces
2) like I mentioned before, Raven is trying to start over with her family and thus is trying to be cautious with how she interacts with the others, in particular being hesitant to refer to Yang as her daughter
3) needless to say, trust is a shaky thing within the group of Raven, Qrow, Ruby, and Yang, but while Qrow is still a bit hesitant to trust his sister again, Yang and Ruby have learned to open up to her a little, to the point where the former will occasionally let the word "Mom" slip into conversations, though not always

Weiss: (gives a sad smile) Ruby, I love you, but there's a BIG difference between Raven and JACQUES*6*: as many mistakes as she's made, even QROW can't deny that unlike our deadbeat dad, she ACTUALLY cares about people other then herself
Qrow (glares and moves to deny that statement, before freezing, actually comparing Raven and Jacques in his head): (groans) Dammit, she's right: between the two, Raven's actually the better person...
Yang: (shares a smirk with her mother) Nice to know you can admit that she's not a JACQUES
Penny (ponders the situation even as everyone else groans in response to Yang's pun): (nods) I'll do what I can, but it'll take some time: I might have Mr. Schnee's memories, but I don't exactly remember how to access them, if that makes sense
Winter: (nods) Qrow DID warn me that you had suffered some damages so I'm not TOO surprised: for now, let's get going
1) at this point in time, the gang has learned that Penny was intended to be the A.I. child of Summer and Jacques, and have acknowledged that she has become something more and it shouldn't change anything within the team dynamics
2) long story short, Project Maiden needed a starting point for the artificial Summer Maiden they were creating, thus Summer Rose had offered to let them make a copy of her mental patterns prior to her death, though needless to say Jacques threw a monkey wrench into things
3) I'll leave it to you how Ruby choose to describe Weiss' older sister to Penny back when she was "Penelope"
4) in this version of things, Jacques implanted a copy of his mental patterns into the mix to try to control what he thought would be his "perfect" daughter, though needless to say things didn't quite work out that way, in no small part because Dr. Polendina did his best to keep Penny, well, PENNY, if you know what I mean...
5) to be clear, Ruby hasn't QUITE forgiven Raven for EVERYTHING that's happened, but she's gotten used to having her around, so while she'll never refer to her as "Mom" (something that Raven has come to accept), she's a lot faster to accept her as family then her sister and ESPECIALLY her Uncle
6) needless to say, things are rather strained between the Schnee daughters and their father

I think that HE could loop us through little segments of time, and he just kept doing it over and over until he won
Penny: (pales) Wait, what? How many times did we loop?
Jaune: (shrugs) Not sure, but why does it matter? He's dead now
Penny: (shakes her head) Yes, but don't you remember when we came here to begin with? I got stuck in a loop, and every time I went back, I left a bunch of... (freezes as she and Jaune come face to face with multiple duplicates of Tyrian/Agent Black as they round a corner; Penny gulps) ...copies
Tyrian/Agent Black (all of them): (gives a malicious smile) Hello (proceeds to give a maniacal laugh)

You look so delicate, but I can already tell that you'll grow to be a fighter, just like the rest of your crazy family: NO ONE will touch you unless they go about it gently, just like the holly bushes we have back on Patch (gasps) That's it: how do you like the name "Holly"?*3* (the newly christened "Holly" just gives a smile in response)
Blake: (looks to Weiss) Is it weird that I find this to be a bit cute?
Weiss (knows that she's referring to how Yang is just flat-out ignoring the fact that her first child is half-grim): (gives a shrug) If it is, then I'm weird too (glares) Don't even think about it, Coco
Coco: (pouts) You're no fun (clears her throat) Anyways, not to interrupt the heartwarming/creepy moment, but the Manta should be here soon
Fox: (scoffs) Please, it's coming all the way from Atlas: it could be days before it shows up, or weeks, or months, or even years! (flinches as the Manta very nearly lands on top of him)

1) just to be clear, Holly IS actually a girl: I just figured that I throw this in there for a brief bit of humor
2) for the record, Holly knows how to say two, maybe three other words at this point: being half-grim means that it develops at a slightly faster rate then most humans, but it IS still just a newborn at this time, you know?
3) yes, this IS how I've come to envision Holly gets her name and/or how she'll be like when she grows up: like a healthy holly tree: beautiful to look at, helpful to those in need, but quite painful to those that don't know what they're doing, if you know what I mean...

Raven: (ponders this, before nodding) You might be right, but one problem: YOU got the empathy and I'VE got the rough edges around my personality, but they've already made it clear that they won't listen to me in this state, and I doubt you can get angry enough for you to be convincing
Ruby: (sternly) WRONG: you saw how I was with Paulette in my head: she couldn't have gotten me that way if I DIDN'T have some anger in me, so I just need to tap into some of it
Raven: (nervous) I...I'm not sure this...

(does this for a few more moments before she suddenly gives off an anguish filled roar that stops the fighting below them in it's tracks; Ruby drops down, knocking out a few of the bandits and a few hunters/huntresses that she's been annoyed with in the past, before growling) My name is Ruby Rose, and I. Hate. Broccoli!
random bandit (missing a tooth*): (panicked) It's Blondie's kid sister! (quickly drops his weapon) Stand down, everyone: we don't know what she'll do now that she's adopted the Brawnwen way!
random Beacon student (one who is on good terms with Ruby): (shakes his head) I somehow doubt it's that: she's likely just angry we're fighting among ourselves, and being honest, she has a right to be: we've got bigger things to deal with (drops his own weapon) Still, as much as I never thought I'd say it, the bandit's got the right idea: everyone drop your weapons: we don't want to provoke her more then we already have: after all, you know what they say: beware the anger of the gentle soul
Raven (watches as the bandits and hunters/huntresses start to drop their weapons, with Ruby quickly taking out the ones that refused to): (gives a proud smile) She truly IS Yang's sister...
* I'll leave it to you whether or not this is the same bandit that Yang ran into during the events of Volume 5

Raven (looks upon the gathered robots alongside Team RWBY): (nods to the others) I don't care HOW slow those things are: we're not properly prepared to take on a group that size: might I suggest a tactical retreat?
Blake (nods) Not a bad idea: gives us an excuse to check out that distress signal we picked up a while back
Raven: (smiles) Starting to understand what Yang sees in you: now everyone in the jeep
Weiss (feeling uncharacteristically playful): (smirks) Shotgun!
Yang: Shotgun! ...fuck!
Ruby: (smiles) Shotgun's lap!
Raven: (shakes her head even as Weiss blushes at that declaration*2*) Sorry, but the jeep doesn't have enough seats for everyone: SOMEONE is going to have to stay behind
Ruby (noticing Yang getting ready to tear into her mother for suggesting abandoning her teammates, AGAIN, and noticing that the robots are starting to pick up their pace*3*): (sighs) I'll do it*4*
Yang: (blinks) Wait, Ruby, no: I don't care what Raven thinks: abandoning your friends is never...
Ruby: (glares) I'm not abandoning ANYONE...and for the record, your MOTHER is right (points to the robots, which are just over the next hill) SOMEONE needs to make sure the rest of team can warn the others about what Paulette is planning and I KNOW I'm fast enough that I can give you guys plenty of time to get away (gives her sister a smile) Don't worry: I don't plan on getting into trouble
Yang: (tears up, but gains a smile nonetheless) You never do, but somehow that always ends up happening (gives a bitter chuckle as she gets hit in the shoulder for that remark before giving her sister a quick embrace) We're coming back for you, okay?
Ruby: (nods) I know: you're like your mom, BOTH of them in that regard: you never leave your family without a reason
Yang: (sighs) Alright, I get it: I'll have a heart-to-heart with Ra...with my mom after we're done telling the others what we've found out
Ruby: (smiles) That's all I ask (breaks the embrace with her sister only to get caught in another one, courtesy of Raven; Ruby blinks, even as she returns the hug) Not that I'm complaining, but what's this for?
Raven: (shakes her head, tears in her eyes) Nothing, just...you remind me SO much of Summer right now...
Ruby: (nods in understanding) Don't worry: I don't plan on dying today (looks to Blake and Weiss) Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone
Weiss: (snorts even as she tears up a little herself) How can we? You're taking all the stupid with you, you dolt (gives her partner a quick hug) Don't try anything TOO crazy, alright?
Ruby: (shakes her head) No promises (looks to Blake even as she also gives her a quick embrace) What: no commentary?
Blake: (pauses) Actually, I do have ONE thing to say (glares) If you die before we come back for you, I'll kill you
Ruby: (gulps) Noted (loads her sniper scythe even as gains a steely expression as her team drives away and the robots approach) Great: now it's just me and the robots (takes in the sheer numbers of the robots; gulps even as she gets into a battle stance) Great: now it's just me and the robots...
1) seeing how Ciel (aka Remnant Lopez) isn't a robot, I needed an explanation as to why she'd align with Paulette (aka Remnant Omega/O'Malley), and in the end, the only answer I could come up with was "she wouldn't, at least not by choose", thus I came up with a scenario of how Paulette would force her into her employ as well as an explanation as to why she would be speaking French for a majority of her scenes in this script when we've seen that she CAN speak English: let me know what you think
2) I'll leave it to you whether or not there's any infatuation connected with this blush
3) long story short, Ciel more-or-less has been given control of the robots and is able to input commands: despite her best attempts to resist Paulette's commands, eventually those robots ARE gong to start running...
4) I KNOW that this isn't how it worked in the original script, but it just fit Ruby's character much better, you know what I mean?

(so long as the chip is inside her head, yes: Ciel IS only able to speak French due to a malfunction; once it's taken back out around the time of Paulette's defeat, she DOES regain the ability to speak English again, though her continued resistance against said chip HAS conditioned her to slip into French vocabulary whenever she's angry or stressed; that said, she DOES get over this a little with the help of some therapy, and a few members of the group *Weiss, Winter, Ren, Velvet, and few others I haven't decided upon at this time* HAVE started to learn French to ease the confusion during times of battle, so if you see her speaking English in the coming scenes, that's why; with that out of the way...)
Winter/Agent White: (groans) My head... (grunts as she tries to get back up) I...I have to...*1*
Patricia: (glares) Do WHAT: get yourself killed!? I bet you don't even have a plan!
Winter: (growls) Yes, I DO: take down the abomination that THINKS it's Summer Rose before she kills stabs everyone here in the back like the pawn of Jacques Schnee she is!*2*
Polly: (shakes her head) You mean like how YOU stabbed Maria in the back, quite literally, I might add*3*? Oh, sorry: "All Project Huntsman operatives must refer to each other by their code names", which would make HER "Agent Silver", wouldn't it?

Polly: (huffs) What: you think that just because you're his first born daughter means that you're the only one whose allowed to take him down? Priscilla (having had Cinder sneak up on them during this whole conversation): (gives a dark chuckle) Oh, she's not afraid: not YET
meanwhile...
Summer/Agent Rose (having just dealt with the Summer Maiden...PENNY): (whips a tear from her eye) Rest well...my daughter*4* (looks to where she left Winter...and pales) What are you doing?! (sprints forward as Cinder/Agent Crimson, now wearing armor with an unusual symbol painted on it, holding Winter up by her neck, blood dripping on the ground; Summer begins to panic) Nonononono! (Cinder clenches her fist around around the microchips containing Polly and Patricia's core programs before throwing Winter off the cliff they were standing on) NO! (watches helplessly as Winter, barely hanging onto her consciousness, attempts to use her glyphs to slow her fall, landing in the snow below, though Summer is uncertain if she's still alive...but she knows she doesn't have time to worry about that as Jacques is already making his move, having witnessed all this from a helicopter; Summer just growls, before activating her com-system) Winter, if you can hear me, I meant what I said: we can still team up: believe me: I want to see Jacques fall JUST as much as you do; for now, I'm going to try and lure Jacques and Agent Crimson away from your location*1*
Priscilla (appearing on Cinder's shoulder alongside Polly and Priscilla, who are currently attempting to comfort each other): (gives a dark chuckle as Summer runs off, opting to mold her sisters to her liking at a later time*5*) You can run all you like, Agent Rose: we are the Meta, and we WILL find you

2) as I mentioned before, Winter and Weiss have met up with Summer once or twice in this version of things, so it goes without saying that the former would eventually realize that the woman following her father's orders was NOT the (adoptive) mother of Yang and Ruby (whom she had heard stories about from Qrow and the ORIGINAL Summer Rose); this would later lead into a private investigation where she would learn just what the deal was with THIS version of Summer...and immediately draw all the wrong conclusions due to her own stubborn pride and paranoia, something she would admit to regretting later down the line
3) don't worry: she made sure not to hit any vital organs (and I'll be sure to expand on this if/when I get to doing that scene)
4) just to be clear, she hasn't forgiven Jacques for what he did, but she CAN acknowledge the bond that she would have shared with Ruby, Yang, and herself, and truth be told, if given the chance, she likely would have welcomed Miss Polendina into the family with open arms, as she was just that kind of person...but I'll get more into this if/when I get to doing that scene
5) needless to say, being the embodiment of AMBITION and creativity gives you a bit of an ego and a sense of certainty of your own supposed perfection; ironically enough, Jacques managed to succeed in making Penny and/or her fragment(s) more like himself when it came to Priscilla, if you know what I mean...
