Description
My new drawing. I decided to rework my old painting from 2016, which was pretty lame. So this time it's a bit less lame
It's called "Atom decay" and it's dedicated to all victims of nuclear disasters. The one of the biggest nuclear disasters in the world, that took place in 1986, affected my family too. So I think, I will return to this concept again and again... Do you believe in peaceful atom? I don't.
Made with graphite pencils.

this is scary, yes
sorry to learn your family was affected by Chernobyl.
Do make a series on this theme for sure. You will be chronicling a disaster born out of foolish human pride with evil technology

I have always felt an emotional unease with nuclear power. People say it's much cleaner for the planet than coal and gas, which i suppose is true when it works well, but when accidents do happen they are colossal in magnitude. The drawing reminds me of the fire-fighters that did their job bravely in Chernobyl, were taken to hospital healthy and joking, and then slowly suffered and succumbed to the effects of their exposure. It was a tragedy for them and for all the people affected, and although i suspect that political and business leaders will never relinquish nuclear power, i hope they keep finding ways of making it safer.

I agree with you 100 % . Of course, all of us need cheap energy for our houses, computers and hairdryers, but still...
Yes, the story about those firefighters from Pripyat is so tragic, terrible things happened, their death was torturous.
thank you for this comment!
