My new attempt with "Gormenghast" novels inspired pictures... Well, this is how I imagine Lady Fuchsia when she was a child. I drew the yellow rose on her dress, instead of sunflowers (which she adore), as some kind of hint on her future love story. Also I drew the owl with her as a guardian and her friend.

So Fuchsia, as you try to sleep
You dream of friends you've never known

In troubled years when no-one cared
You searched for comfort everywhere
For heavy burdens never shared
Became too much for one to bear

So much to give,
But those who live
Don't know of you
Your fantasy
Of love to be
Cannot come true

This is my very first attempt with oil pastels. They seem to be a bit difficult to me, because it's almost impossible to correct mistakes, while drawing with them. One moment I thought that this picture was spoiled, but then I decided to keep it as it is.

Made on A3 textured paper with oil pastels.
