It's Dr. Horrible's turn!I've always loved comic book heros (or villians) with dual identities. They hide who they are behind a mask or a costume because they're ashamed, or because they're protecting the ones they love, or just because they can. But often times the man (or woman) behind the mask is far more interesting. Therefore, I drew the villian everyone loves Dr. Horrible and his hapless alter ego Billy - complete with laundry to further stalk the love of his life (who doesn't know he exists) Penny.
Billy (aka Dr. Horrible) is a classic example of why I love the recent rise of the geek-hero. Poor Billy is a hopeless romantic and I'll be damned if he doesn't remind me of Charlie Brown and his unrequited love for the little red-headed girl. But as Billy he goes "unnoticed" and this makes you wonder how many people you've passed at the laundromat that are actually evil geniuses.
And NPH does a fantastic job with every little bit he adds to the character - I swear, the man deserves some sort of award for his job as the infamous Dr. Horrible. Seriously, watch the musical again and focus soley on Neil... it's incredible.
My favorite song is from the beginning of Act 2 between Penny and Billy.
And yes... it is a death ray. Not a ice ray... that's all Johnny Snow... freakin' hack.

Villains tend to be more interesting and layered (like pie) most people don't care how a villain became a villain. While watching I found it hard to visualize Dr. Horrible being truly evil until he put the red lab coat on as he gained everything yet lost everything.
His duel personality makes him so relatable as almost everyone has another side to them.

This is a very cute piece. The use of gray outlines instead of black gives it a very unique feel. The energy in the drawing is great also. Kudos!

Wow, you really know how to portray two sides of a character, ne? I like how you have Billy standing there with his laundry basket, and then him in his Dr. Horrible mode with the Death Ray. ^^ I actually had "On the Rise" playing when I came across this.

Wow. I can't begin to express how much I love this. The Billy / Dr Horrible dynamic was probably my favorite part of the musical, especially as it reached the end. Though it's so hard to choose because the whole thing is just so wonderful.
And I love "On the Rise" as well! Though, my favorite song is probably tied between "Laundry Day" and "Slipping" (and my ring tone is "Bad Horse").

I just watched it...and that's the end? That's a horrible ending! Didn't resolve anything! Although I did like the songs quite a bit.

It's very greek tragedy. He gets everything he thought he wanted at the cost of Penny. But was it all worth it? And that ending makes the viewer seriously question if he can be happy.
