[ Comparison between the 2001 and 2009 versions in my scrapbook ]Much like "Sleepy Link", this is a recolor of something done long ago... but this one is actually from 2001! The pencils were done in the day between my first and second viewing of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust in the theater. I've loved Charlotte and Meier ever since then.

This is a beautiful fanart of Meir Link, & Charlotte. I thought their love, was very sweet, & pure, he cared for her, so much, & Meir was one of the few nobles, who actually had some kindess about him.

What a stunning work !
I really love it...Bloodlust is my favorite anime, and I hoped so much that Charlotte and Meier would reach the stars together...there isn't enough pictures or painting on deviant of those two characters, but I guess it will be difficult to do something as beautiful as you did.

i recently found my love again for this (i was less interested the 1st time i saw it).
and i looked everywhere for art of the lovely 'forbidden love' couple. but alas yours was a fav, an there was not enough D; (your going to inspire a nasty art obsession all over XD).
i adored the version 2001, but this makes me squee, and i cannot thank you enough for the redo. it's impressive how far you've come from then 
you still continue to do art for them^^.

Thank you. I remember bringing my sketchbook with me to my second theatre viewing of the anime, and people in line in front of and behind me (there was a big crowd to see it!) were ooohing and aaaahing back in 2001. Normally I try to take anime characters more into my own style, but VHD
