That's it! I started to learn more about 3D. It's was so fun to do and this is why I stoped posting anything for a while. The result is here, this is my new monster girl character, Shock. She is very nice person but do not try to eat her, if you do not want to be one of them...Related content

I will try to respond to your questions the best i can:
1. I always use the default polysphere to start with each shape including that one you mentioned and i usually dont have problems with that.
2. So far i have made hands entirely by myself and that has worked for me, though to be fair i have never done realistic human hands, only cartoony or monster hands, if i had to do more realistic human hands i would use another program like Blender to make them.
