So very true, I do that a lot and it's a good coping mechanism. I really dislike how some people are so quick to label everything 'emo' though. Honestly, things can be emotional/have a deep meaning to it without being 'emo'.

Even if you are emo, this would make sense for all kinds of people. Life can be anything, whether its filled with happiness or sorrow but everyone needs to escape sometimes, because no life is perfect. Very good quote and awesome handwriting btw

I thought you might have been sarcastic. I wrote it one night. My boyfriend has cancer, and music is a way for me to escape, the pains of dealing with that. That's my interpretation of it. I didn't intend for it to be emo. I dislike the word.

As do I. I'm not old enough to see everything the world has to offer but I know for sure that not all of it is rainbows and unicorns. It's dangerous and sad, I know that much but theres a lot more to it than just that, cause it can be joyous too. I'm really, honestly sorry to here that your boyfriend has cancer, I just can't imagine...but I really get how music helps you escape.
