Description * Please read at least the first two paragraphs before you comment thank you *

This is a stamp to show my strong feelings towards the ban on fox hunting. Now before you all comment this is ONLY aimed at the fox hunting "blood sport" where you chase the animal with hounds (or horses even though its illegal I've seen only too recently people doing so).

I have NO problem with animal population control its something that sadly has to be done in this day and age and some animal populations do go out of control and can harm thier own spieces and other native wildlife. However there are humane and in-humane ways to go about it, a skilled gunsman can shoot an animal without causing it too much pain and awareness. However its creul, barbaric and just plain wrong in my mind to chase an animal to near enough exhaustion and then to let dogs onto it by ripping it apart.

Sadly while I was away on holiday I saw with my very own eyes a fox get chased down and ripped apart by a group of hounds. It was the most disgraceful site I had ever laid my eyes on. Fur was flying everywhere, blood stained the grass, also with all of the fighting one hound got brutally wounded (the fox ripped out its eye, and afterwards the men didn't even batter an eyelid at that). Once you have seen for yourself what these people do its hard enough not be sick.

I would describe the event in more detail however I can't bring myself to it. I may draw some images from what I saw however ill decide later.

There are so many many humane ways to control fox damage and control animal populations humanely. THERE IS NO EXCUSE for bloodsport whether its "taking a trot out in the country" or whatever.

I support the ban of fox hunting, and blood sports! and I always will.

-If you support fox-hunting I will not be an idiot and go out syaing "kill all hunters" blah blah blah. However RESPECT my view and I shall respect yours.-

None of my family doesn't participate in the fox hunt anymore; my mother and father never have. Usually, the fox simply goes back into it's den and that's all. Animals shouldn't really have to chased around in the first place but the tradition shouldn't be forgotten.

Mhmm but my opinion is you don't have to still pratice these things to the note in order to remember them. Just keep close records or evolve it. For example if the inca's were still around they could say "human sacrifice is a tradition should we still carry it out?". Which is why I feel that people need to move on more and think outside the box with these things.

I'm saying remember the art and culture it inspired and keep an unbiased record of fox hunting. It defense of the times, the victorian era didn't have the technology it had today to get rid of a fox problem. Foxes were also menaces to farmers chickens and still are. I'm not saying it's right but the people who have participated had good intentions; their intentions just became twisted.

It maybe a big part of our english culture dating back to them but as I picked out from your text "victorians didn't have the technology then" just shows that today we do. There are so many humane ways for farmers to deal with fox problems now so there is no need for the hunt anymore. You will find that many fox hunting protestors etc are NOT against the culling just the way in going about it. Which is why there is excuse for hunts anymore tradition or not times have changed and need to move forward .

- Also onto the farmers issue they can't really justify now that foxes are big problem to chickens, because their are new anti-fox chicken pens which have been invented and are not too expensive to conduct or make either. Which is why I believe that there really isn't the need for fox hunting anymore. In my opinion if their really is a BIG issue to the farmer he should hire in professional gunmens who will find the troublesome fox and deal with it. RSPCA members can also be called out to capture these foxes and release them somewhere else out of harms way. What I also do not understand is that sometimes the hunt deos not capture and kill the troublesome fox to the farmer in the first place which is why I find it pointless in our new day and age.

In some areas your still allowed to hunt (without horses your still allowed a group of hounds). Which to be honest it really deosn't make much of a difference it proberly effects the percentage of how many foxes are killed however it still causes a lot of stress on the animal. Sadly with the goverment at this moment in time I really don't know .

Sometimes the population of animals needs to be controlled or the occasional animal that is harming livestock needs to be humanely shot or similar but there is no excuse for this, none at all. Fox hunting is like our UK version of high fence hunting :[ I totally agree with your comments

Hmmm... well... humans usually learn from errors. Maybe they'll find out when the population of foxes go to Endangered. Then again...

Blah ><

ghostwolfen In reply to HyenaVitani [2010-10-31 18:01:43 +0000 UTC]

They will only start hunting again once the populations boost up its a no win suituation I'm afraid .

Yeah... I guess its pretty much like that. >< Things we can do is really limited, because just as there are people who want to ban it, there is people who supports it. So... ><

I support fox hunting but at the same time I'm totally against using the hounds. It puts too much stress on both animals and makes the killing part much more painful. Guns, they're awesome.

Thank you very much for reading the comments and wording your view respectfully , again I agree with your statements. I hate people who just kill for the fun of it or for "the chase". Using that many hounds is really not needed, ok so if one regular fox is causing deep stresses and troubles to lifestock then I have no problem in one farmer finding it and then shooting it humanely and in the right conditions.

Thank you for the comment .

I agree. I support population control.
Which something I hate arguing to people who don't understand it about.
same thing with wolves. I support pop. control but not just trophy hunting. =\

Thank you very much for commenting also for taking the time to read my comments as well !.

Population control which is fully monitered has to be carried out for as what I have stated above I agree. However blood-sports and trophy killing is plain wrong. Its also a big waste of a kill most hunters don't even make use of the body after its just a waste.

MazukaGhoul In reply to ??? [2010-10-30 18:11:13 +0000 UTC]

We already discussed this and I agree with the ban on hunting for sport. Population control or food are one thing...chasing, terrifying, exhausting, and then killing an animal is entirely another...especially cruelly - like letting your dogs battle it out and rip it apart. And they didn't even care their own hound had its' eye torn out? Come on! Poor fox and hound (pun only partially intended).

It really was the most horrific site you ever can imagine. It was chased onto the middle of the road also cars had to be stopped and I saw kids in one car look absoultly horrified and terrified on what they were seeing includeing some adults. My dad however gave them an earfull (me included) and they totted off.

You may put this on your page anyone can please spread the word, every little counts.

fox hunting is so fucking cruel! i mean, they could always just kill them humanely with no pain, but the use of dogs to pull them apart is just...eurgh, horrible...

I can't believe the human race enjoys doing things like this for 'fun' its just wrong!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ghostwolfen In reply to dalekambi [2010-10-30 18:17:40 +0000 UTC]

Hunting for the sheer "thrill" of it is purely inhumane and creul. They also hunt in some places I have heard where foxes are not an issue which clearly shows its for sport.

Thank you very much for your view and comment !.
