Description
“Ju-Jules I *hic* I love you!” Bill presses her head into Julie’s chest. Julie gently strokes Miranda’s hair.“I think we’d better get you home baby” Julie says. “I forgot how strong vodka is for first timers”
Bill looks up at Julie, Miranda’s eyes full of tears. “Julie - I gotta *hic* I gotta tell you *hic* I have - I‘ve been hiding *hic* something from you”
Julie shushed him and says “It’s ok, we all have secrets. Let’s head home alright?” Julie carefully guides Miranda to her feet, wrapping her arm around Miranda’s shoulder.
“Noooo...” Bill says as they walk out of the bar “I *hic* My secret is important! I’m not who you *hic* who you think I am.”
Julie hails a cab and rubs Miranda’s shoulder. “That’s ok babe, we can talk about it later ok?”
Bill tears up even more “But - But, it’s *hic* it’s important. I *hic* I love you but I’ve been *hic* lying to you” Julie just smiles sweetly and helps him into the cab. After telling the driver where to go, she embraces Miranda as Bill lays her head on Julie’s shoulder. Bill tries to say more but ends up just mumbling how much he loves Julie and wants to be with her.
Eventually they make it back to Danny’s place and stumble inside. Even though Bill is clearly the most drunk, Julie feels a bit off balance as well. The pair makes their way into Bill’s bedroom, attempting to be quiet, though without much success. Bill flops onto his bed face down, while Julie sits on the edge by Miranda’s head. “Aff eh wah shummun humfflty humffm wouff hu hull wun hu eff wut muh?” Bill mumbles through the pillow.
“I can’t understand you when you talk into your pillow Mira.”
Bill turns her head so he’s not muffled. “If I was someone completely different, would you still want to be with me?”
“What do you mean? Like you acted differently or what?”
Bill shakes her head. “No, like... if I... I was the same person but looked like someone else entirely?”
“Hmm” Julie slides and lies down to be at the same level as Miranda. “Well, there’s two aspects to consider isn’t there? There’s the physical attraction that one feels based purely off appearance, and then there’s the emotional aspect which depends on the mind right?” Bill just nods and mumbles agreement. “So, if you looked like someone else entirely, then I guess it would depend on what you looked like if I would still be physically attracted to you, but I love spending time with you for your mind and personality.”
Bill says “So... if I were a guy...”
Julie smiles softly. “I’d still love to spend time with you, but if you were a guy then we probably wouldn’t do this.” Julie presses her lips against Miranda’s and embrace her. Bill wraps her arms around Julie and pulls her tighter. He runs Miranda’s hand down Julie’s back, unzipping her dress. Their lips never part for long as Julie sheds her dress and works Miranda’s pants down. Bill feels the sharp pleasurable pain down below as Julie works her fingertips inside. Any worries or concerns they might’ve had melts away as they enjoy each other’s presence.
—————————————————————
When Bill awoke that morning, Julie was once again gone. She left a note for him as usual, though he had too much of a hangover to read it fully. But he did read the end in which she has signed it “Love you lots - Julie.” Sighing, Bill makes his way into the living area for some water and aspirin. It isn’t until Danny says “Good morning princess. I take it you had a fun nigh?” that Bill realizes he’s still in the suit - and completely naked at that.
“Oh yeah, heh. Thanks again for letting me borrow the suit last night.”
“Yeah, no worries man. I’m just happy to see that you’re getting over Jessica.” Danny begins packing up his bag. “You and Julie... is it getting, ya know, serious?”
Bill sighs and takes a seat at the counter. “I... I don’t know man... I mean... I - I think I love her... But I mean, maybe that’s just an after effect of the breakup...” Bill shakes her head and her long hair reminds him of his deception. “Or maybe it’s this suit like how Wilma is for you.”
“Hmm, yeah maybe... I just worry Julie’s...” Danny cuts himself off before saying any more. “Well I gotta get to work. So I’ll see ya later tonight.”
“Alright cool. Sounds good.” Danny leaves and it takes another few minutes before Bill’s hungover mind realizes he should’ve given Danny the suit back. Bill looks at herself in the mirror, still having trouble believing it’s actually just a suit.
This suit never ceases to amaze me... Bill thinks, but then realizes something. Wait, it’s the camera that created this... we’ve been way more focused on the suit itself but maybe there’s more to the camera?
Bill decides to take a shower first - two in fact. One as Miranda and one as himself. Even though the suit overrides the wearer’s nervous system, his real skin still sweats and gets dirty. Freshly clean and mostly recovered from his hangover, Bill lays the suit out on the living room table and takes the camera from its hiding spot in Danny’s closet. Though they didn’t think anyone would come looking for it, Danny and Bill agreed that when they weren’t using it, the camera and suit should be stored someplace safe.
Turning his attention to the camera, Bill dug out the Dungarian translation notes he got from his old professor and the file Danny snagged from the ADET office. He remembered that the bulk of the file was talking about how the camera was apparently discovered by ADET rather than built by them, though it was modified by them to work with a normal computer.
Bill quietly reads the last part out loud to himself. “‘Message to first builder is looked at and rejected. Father of eye catching is death skin and non-existent for lower class... Asking for yes for man and work...’ Who is the ‘first builder’? And what the hell does being ‘non-existent for lower class mean?’” Bill was fairly certain that the camera was the “eye catching” given how it was used in the rest of the file, but “first builder” and the rest of it was never used anywhere else.
Sighing, Bill leans back and rubs his eyes. The end part about asking for a “yes for man and work” is clearly a request for something... but it says that another message was rejected by this... First builder... Originally Bill and Danny had hypothesized that the “first builder” and “father” were dead and that the rejection meant that he couldn’t respond for some reason. No... but then it wouldn’t have been “looked at” right? A dead man can’t look at message... But the father being “death-skin” and “non-existent” sure sounds like they’re dead... Unless... they’re not the same person? Or maybe they are but they weren’t the one who looked at it?
Bill sits up and looks at the original file written in Dungarian. Why couldn’t they have just used a normal language like everyone else?
He sighs once again and puts the file away, picking up the camera itself. He carefully examined the body of the camera and tried to look for anything out of the ordinary they haven’t noticed before. The camera itself looked like a slightly modified old school digital camera. Mostly hard black plastic aside from the metal framed top and bottom, and the metal around the lens. He peers into the lens closely but he didn’t know enough about camera to notice anything odd. He continues examining the thing, but other than the flap near the bottom that Danny said the suit originally came from, it seemed like a normal, if bulky, camera.
Trying to think of any other ideas, Bill absentmindedly flicks the flap over the empty battery compartment open and closed. It isn’t until he flips it open for the tenth time that he realizes something. Why is there a battery flap? That file said they added the recharging port to it so is it just a remnant? But then... wouldn’t it still have a battery in it? Bill looks closer at where he’d assumed the replaceable batteries used to be and notices there isn’t the plus minus metal spring connectors he’s used to seeing like in remotes and stuff. Sticking his finger inside, he’s surprised when he feels a smooth transparent surface taking up the slot. Carefully prying it out, a small vial about the size of a double A battery disconnects from it’s slot.
What is this? How did we never notice this before now? Bill examines the vial and realizes that they never noticed because they never checked the battery compartment that closely and even if they did the glass was spotless, and being recessed inside the camera, no glare or light would’ve given it away. Holding it up to the light, Bill can see a faint trace of some brown liquid near the opening of the vial. Could this be what made the suit? Like some sorta printer ink? Rotating the vial around in his fingers, he notices the light catch and illuminate a small image etched into the glass. It looked almost like an eye to him but with the letter “I” in place of the pupil.
Why does this look familiar to me? I don’t think it was in the file... Then Bill has a sudden memory flash back to one of the first nights he spent with Julie as Miranda. Julie had just showed Bill how good it felt to be orally simulated as a female and he wanted to try it on Julie. As he got her face close to Julie’s golden palace, he recalled seeing a small tattoo on Julie’s inner thigh. At the time he was preoccupied to ask or give it much notice, but now, looking at this symbol etched into the glass vial, Bill has a chill run down his spine. No... there’s no way that Julie’s tat is... No, I must be remembering it wrong... That’s all. I bet I saw it when we were at ADET’s headquarters. Yeah. That must be it. But despite trying to convince himself, Bill couldn’t shake the feeling that had grabbed hold of him. Acting decisively, Bill suits up and grabs the camera. Switching it to appear as himself, he leaves Danny’s place and heads downtown.
—————————————————————
Standing in front of the large office building, Bill watches the reception desk from outside. He recalled that Heather took her break around this time and that she had access to to upper floors of the ADET HQ. After waiting for just a few minutes, Bill watches as Heather leaves the reception room and takes her break. Bill quickly activated the camera and transforms himself into her. He feels his body shift into the new shape and feels the fabric of the clothing created by the suit slide to form a dress matching Heather’s outfit. As her ass fills out her new skirt, Bill realizes he hasn’t actually been in the suit as anyone other than Miranda and Wilma for quite a while. He’d gotten used to the feeling of those two bodies, but he’d forgotten how different each body could feel. What’d we call it again? The flavor? No, an impression or something...
With the transformation complete, Bill quickly makes her way into the lobby then the elevators. Looking at the number of floors, he realizes he doesn’t actually know which floor to check. Hesitating, he goes to press a button when a guy in a white lab coat, clutching a large stack of papers, catches the doors before the close and step in next to Bill. “Hi, uh, could you hit floor 3 please?” He asks, fumbling a bit with his papers. Bill smiles and gladly obliges. Glancing at the ID badge on the guy, Bill sees it says “Harry Turman. R&D Technician”.
Bingo. R&D always has the juicy secrets On the third floor Bill follows the lab tech out, pretending to head towards the office near the back of the hall. When the lab tech uses his security badge to unlock a pair of double doors and passes through, Bill quickly catches the door just before it shuts. Making sure there’s no one in sight, he slips through and quietly shuts the door.
Bill is in a long white hallway that reminds him of a hospital. Multiple doorways line the hall and when Bill peeks through one with a window he sees what looks like a chemistry lab or something. Not entirely sure what he’s even looking for, Bill creeps along silently, shifting the suit to himself to avoid the loud clicking of the secretary’s heels. Peeking into each room, they all seem to be labs of various sorts.
What the hell am I even looking for? Bill thinks to himself after looking into yet another room with scientific looking equipment that Bill knew nothing about. He debates leaving but the sound of voices heading his way cause him to duck into the nearest room and hide. Bill glances around the room and it looks more like a storage room than an actual lab - though there’s still a workstation set up in the center.
Bill waits for the voices to fade before opening up some of the cupboards. Many random vials and beakers fill the shelves, but nothing out of place. Bill is checking out a large closet when he hears the door to the room start to open. Silently panicking, Bill jumps into the closet and shuts himself in.
“... material seemed to respond well to the test, but we are running out of Class-6 vials.” Bill hears a voice of someone entering the room.
“Borrow some from Lab C.” Another voice responds. “Since C-2.4 was stolen there’s a ton just sitting there.”
“I think that material has already been processed but I guess I can ask ...” The voices faded again and Bill heard the door shut once again. Stepping out of the closest, Bill carefully peeks through the door window and sees two lab tech walking away. C-2.4... why does that sound familiar? Bill pulls about the camera and sure enough, he sees “C-2.4” marked on it. Lab C must be where this came from then!
Bill once again creeps down the hall, this time keeping an eye out for Lab C. When he finds it, he slips inside. This lab was a bit larger than the others, with a large metal slab in the center of the room and a ton of small metal hatches along the back wall. Why does this place remind me of a morgue?
Focusing, Bill looks around. Most of the cabinets were locked and there weren’t any files in the filing cabinets either. Not finding much else, Bill focuses on the metal hatches and nervously opens one. A gust of freezing air spills out. Peeking inside, Bill sees a shelf of small glass vials, identical to the one he took out of the camera’s battery compartment - only these were filled with various fluids. Woah... These must be for the camera.... Bill takes one and inspects the green liquid sloshing around. I wonder why there’s so many different colors... Bill takes another vial with blue liquid and tries to compare it with the green vial. Once again Bill hears the sound of a door handle clicking. He quickly shoves the vials into his pocket and shuts the hatch. Looking for a place to hide, he slides under a desk.
He watches as a pair of feet walk past his hiding spot to the hatches and stop. With the person seemingly distracted, Bill decides to make a break for the open door. Taking a breath, he quietly sprints out from under the desk and slips through the door while the person’s back was turned. Confident he wasn’t spotted, and a bit impressed with his sneaking skill, Bill makes his way towards the exit. He rounds the final corner and comes face to face with someone he didn’t expect.
“Well, hello there Bill.” Julie says, calm as ever. Stunned, Bill thinks to himself I think there’s a lot of explaining that needs to happen soon...
