Description
This is for Lunnika-Horo`s Β contest "Draw my photo! "Photo used: lunnika-horo.deviantart.com/arβ¦
Watercolours, black ink and a little bit of white gouache.
This was a difficult one and there were many times when I wasn't happy with it at all. However, now that it's all finished and I don't have to work on it any more, I actually quite like it.
I am still very glad it's finally done, though. Painting from photos always feels like hard work so I like to keep it to a minimum. I'm lazy.

Very pretty! I love the dots in the background, and on the piece of wood she's resting on.
I also really, really like the color gradient on her antennae, going from golden brown to gray to black, and the little round highlights where they curve. Really subtle, very nice.

Thanks. I'm quite happy with the little dots, too. I think they're grains of sand in the original picture but I wanted them to be more colourful.
