Even if it doesn't, you should be proud!! It's a sweet and tidy little story with traces of a redemption arc for Jade. IN terms of story I think it's my favorite so far, because it is so self-contained.

I just love the constant magical girl dress of Jade. By the end of the Library he'll be defending in the name of the moon in no time.

Hoo boy, what a round! Y'all impressed me bigtime, lemme tell ya. You guys definitely brought your A-game, and it shows! You have a pretty well rounded chapter with lots of personality through character interactions, and you guys brought an unexpected spin on things, I'd say, and your mysterious foot-based character was portrayed as such a caricature of himself that I couldn't help but love hating him haha. The fight scenes and splash pages were also a great way to establish atmosphere too.
What I would suggest next time is to really show that Sam is the protagonist that you intended her to be. It seems like this round had far too much attention directed towards Jade and his character development rather than that of Sam's, and I would highly advise not putting TOO much more emphasis on the opponent's character. However, it's still better than being a mere obstacle, so well done! Jade's personality and intentions come off as a little... off, as his sadistic nature inability to feel mercy weren't communicated as clearly as I would have hoped.
But awesome job all around you two! I hope to see ya guys do great stuff with Sam and North Witch~

i understand your point, near the end it seemed like most of the focus was put on jade, though that was partially why we had some of the shoos help him out, so theres some of sam there too. I really wanted to get some stuff on jade there... Sam and North are still very much the main characters, this was more or less 'jades introduction'.
Jades sadistic nature and mercilessness were portrayed as best i could given how he was still trying to keep a good cover. If he had a dead body on his hands, and anyone found out, he definitely wouldnt be able to be trusted enough for sam and north to keep him around.
