Devoted Legion Foroa
-----
The first Effect Monster of Devoted Legion is Foroa, who acts as your versatile playstarter and extender. The first effect allows you to quickly generate two additional bodies for low investment but the caveat is that they have to be Fairy Normal / Synchro Monsters, and they both have to come from different locations. The real meat of this card though, and the effect that all other Level 4 Warrior monsters share, is a GY trigger effect to target a Fairy you control, and check if you control a Fairy Normal Monster; if you do not, you get a free Fairy Normal Monster. Along the way in either case, you apply a lingering effect bound to that target that boosts the danger levels of all Fairy Normal Monsters you have; this helps try to convey that Normal Monsters should be the main threat to worry about.
Trivia: This remake of Devoted Legion was heavily inspired by Swordsoul, as you could likely tell by Foroa's "Mo Ye"-like body generation, and the interesting passive lingering effect bound to a particular monster. Where Swordsoul and Devoted Legion differ though, is Swordsoul uses the lingering effect to ensure one uses Synchros. Devoted Legion uses the lingering effect to promote keeping a particular target around so your Normal Monsters are very threatening; which somewhat works the same way as a traditional lock.
