Description
Spike from "Cowboy Bebop" and Lupin from "Lupin III" are probably my two favorite anime characters so I drew them together. I'm going to color this one and probably make prints of it for WizardWorld Chicago.Related content

spikes style of fighting and movement was inspired by lupins, and there is a character in the first episode on the 3rd series that is dressed exactly like him :3

If I was you I would have drawn Spike more realistique to give it more contrast, but it's your pic. Cant wait for the colored version.

wow dude, nice i love the poses, and the background is great! i love the lamp!
i especially like how you gave the characters similarities in style so they don't offset one another, but still maintained a good balance of the original design style, so the integrity isn't compromised. nice job
i'm sure the colors will really bring out the personality this piece projects

Thanks man! I'm glad you like it! I was kinda worried at first that they may look waaaay different (like they do in their respective series) but I tried not to think about it too much and just draw them how I would draw them. That's cool that you like the background. I'm starting to not mind drawing backgrounds, like I used to. It's still not my favorite part by any means.
i can't wait to start coloring it. I'm hoping the colors really make it stand out.

sure i felt the same way about backgrounds, but then i realized that even the simplest backgrounds make the pics look a million times better.
its good you're getting used to them, since it really helps with this piece. it adds to the atmosphere, and gives it a little personality
the little details look great.
you're cell shading style will definitely look nice, but just make sure you get the lighting right. that can make or break some pics, and i know if you do it right, the personality of this one will be even more apparent
if you want to get more extreme with your lighting or textures, get a tablet. pressure sensitivity works wonders
