Description
We went to Fortress of Louisbourg. This is the front entrance into the fort it's know as Dauphin Gate. BAck in the day soldiers guarded the gate 24 hours a day. We were greeted by two French guards. The Fortress has both French and British guards patrolling.Related content

awesome shot, I love Louisbourg, I've been there a couple times its fantastic! ^.^ last time I was there they fired off one of the cannons and I saw a very cute French guard

Thanks. I hadn't been there in years and had to go again. They fired the cannon too at the end of the day just before we all left on the last bus back to the car.

yeah I wanted to get up there in time for the big Reenactment but I couldn't get there in time >.< oh well, it was a great day when I went though, they did a hilarious skit involving the mysterious disappearence of a bottle of wine lol

Oh I would have loved to see that skit. We went the begining of September. The day we went some fo the building weren't open. Nex year we're going in May/June so hopefully we'll see more.
