Description
Sixth installment in the Commander Shepard series. This is resolution. This is the moment that comes after shaking off her doubts, her defeats, her loses. It's the moment when Shepard regains her feet, looks head, stares at the big picture and puffS out her chest, willing to stand up to the challenge. The road is not pretty, the road is not certain. From where she stands, things look grime, Earth is a mosaic of blues and reds, a ball of chaos with hope at its center. Shepard is grasping at that hope. Hope that this is not the end. Hope that ignites in every spirit in the galaxy the will to fight, to survive. And Shepard is no exception.
This is Shepard choosing not to fall into her destiny, but to pave the road for it with blood, sweat and tears, and even screams if she has to.
*Note: BTW, I've started playing again Multiplayer (PC). If anyone wants to team up find me. My origin ID: f3nixpho3nix

I love the posture and details. And the quote suits perfectly here.

Thank you! This one comes after doubts, when Shepard shakes it all off and decides there's only way way for her. Forward.

You describe situations that arise in your works very well. They make me understand them from a new side.

In the words of the last Prothean Javik and it is with words like that I can't imagine finishing the journey without him or without the others - for it is they more than anyone else that Shepard faces the endings before her.

Indeed. If not for the support of her teammates, I don't think Shepard would've been able to challenge destiny and deny death.

Still it is also when a teammate falls or comes close to death that Shepard stumbles too. Many fell fighting with Shepard during the third game. Mordin Solus - words to die - had to be me - someone else might have gotten it wrong. Further in the last single player addition Citadel that we are again reminded it is not what makes Shepard so special - no it is who makes Shepard so special - namely her teammates - her Normandy family. Personally I actually played both genders though always felt a greater attachment to Jennifer Hale's Female Shepard. Indeed she would challenge everything for them because they would for her.

I have only played the female gender. I should try to play with a male shepard and see how much it differs. Though I would probably feel more attached to the female Shep as well, since that was my first Shep ever.

The romances differ is one as Ashley Williams shares my affinity for literature whereas if you were to romance Tali that's a new one too. Also Jack as well - I feel Jack would be a better fit to a male Shepard who came from a history of Mindoir and the Batarians though I haven't actually explored a Male Shepard with Jack romance as yet. So yes the romance aspect differs depending on who is romantically involved with Shepard. The dialogue differs by he or him though there are other things that would only come across if you were playing as him.
I liked that they made a reversible cover for the Mass Effect 3 so you could switch it around depending on what gender your Shepard is though I have to say I switched to Fem Shep and left it that way since I originally picked up my copy pre-ordered copy just over a year ago.
Also I found I preferred the sound of Jennifer Hale's Female Shepard over Mark Meer's Male Shepard more often than not. At the same time I still wanted to see my Male Shepard reunite with Ashley - well to be more precise James Shepard with Ashley Williams.
The imported faces were changed around a bit though I left it as it was despite the option to alter it.
Still you always remember your first so I plotted my way through both genders in all 3 games and still there's so much more I haven't done. Especially since I am so paragon inclined rather than renegade.

I've done several playthroughs but all with a fem shep. I agree with you in the voice acting. I've seen my brothers playing with a male shep and I just don't like his voice acting. It feels fake. Whereas Jennifer nails every line. Plus, there's not every day you get to play a kick-ass female commander that actually wears armor to battle rather than a bathing suit!

Jennifer - I have been hearing different characters voiced by her for years before I played Mass Effect including her Bastila Shan character in an earlier Bioware game called Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. She reprises the character in Obsidian's sequel to the game Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lord. Likewise Raphael Sbarge previously was in the same game as Carth Onasi. It made a Female Shepard serving with Kaidan Alenko feel like a KOTOR reunion of sorts. Battle armor can be sexier than a bathing suit.

Just letting you know I posted this one to your tribute album on Mass Effect Female Shepard's facebook page today. Link: [link] - I think I've buggered up your order haven't I? Could you check the pictures and fill in the gaps if I've messed up? And could you tell me which ones are supposed to be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th?! :S
This is such a great quote by the way.

Thank you so much! And no problem, you're not messing up. I guess in order it would be something like this:

2- Resolution [link]
3- Synthesis [link]
4- Control [link]
5- Destroy [link]
6- Regrets [link]
7- Refusal [link]
8- Peace (which I yet have to finish)

Wanted to compliment the excellent series! I was browsing DA for Mass Effect art, and I first noticed your "Doubt" piece, which I think was great. Most of the fanart around Commander Shepard ignores the toll that all the massive decisions she is faced with would take on any human being. Loved it. Of course, then I saw they rest of your series, each of which look great with fine detail, but maybe more importantly match really well with the different theme.
Don't comment very often, but didn't seem right to enjoy so much of your artwork, then move on silently. Keep up the excellent work!

Just found your Mass Effect work here. What impresses me most about it is actually not the Shepard that is present in the images, but her surroundings.
I like how worn, grimy and battered you've made the armor.
That line in this one reminded me of these lines from my favorite movie, Lord of War:
(deciding to become an arms dealer) "You go into the restaurant business because people are always going to have to eat. That was the day I realized my destiny lay in fulfilling another basic human need."
"It's in our nature. The earliest human skeletons had spear-heads in their ribcages."
Looking down upon the human homeworld being engulfed by the greatest of the countless wars that have taken place upon it...and even then, as the galaxy burns around them, human beings in yellow-and-white armor are slaughtering other human beings.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. Yes, this series is more about what's surrounding Shepard than Shepard herself (since it's the detail that tell the story). I did see Lord of War and I enjoyed the character's cynicism. I wish it hadn't been Nicholas Cage, though, lol.
This specific piece comes, for me, right after Shepard having her doubts. It's when she stands up, looks the whole of what she's facing in the face, and then looks back at her squad silently, challenging them to follow if they dare. Considering her countless battles prior to finally going back to take Earth, I wanted to show the armor beat-up and scratched. It speaks of her struggle, inwardly and outwardly.
