I like the concept. Nice shot too. It seems staged, since I know gulls for being rather hyper, skittish, and not likely to stay in one place for long, but it's not...that's so amazing!

i like the fact that the 'leader' is sharp, while the 'followers' are blurry. very nice shot, as always.

I like it, the only thing that I might comment is that everything, except the first couple of birds, is intensely blury. I know that this may very well be a natural effect, or may have been "encouraged" in order to gain a certain effect, but I just thought that I would let you know that from my personal point of view, the photograph would be a bit easier to take in all at once if it were a bit sharper throughout. It just seems a bit too distracting with the background so blurred out as it is.
I hope that I have not offended you with this, most likely over critical, critique, but I just thought that I am sure that you had heard enough one liners of "Good Job!" so I thought that I would tell you what I honestly thought of it. Do not get me wrong however, I do really like the photograph!

From what I see they are sharp, but I could be wrong.
Thank you for the comment.

You were right, forget the comment above. The color settings on the monitor I was using were messed up and gave me a bad viewing of the photograph, sorry about that.

but will you be ready to lead?

very nice shot. at first it looks as if the leader is stumbling along the path, but then it looks as if he leads others in the same stumbling path as he took and showing them that it will be okay. very, very nice.

i need to get a camera. what non-digital camera would you recomend for a person who has little money (by little, i mean around 1-2 hundred dollars)?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gilad In reply to looserfuseruserabuse [2006-02-08 15:01:01 +0000 UTC]

The little money you have, the more digital you should get.
The cost of film cameras are lower, but then you have lenses price, and buying the media and developing.
You should buy digital, try the Conon A-95

This is not one of those photos that I say "wow" when first opening it.
It took me a couple of minutes to connect to it.
Finally, I like the patterns of shapes from the beaks and tails.
It's not a balanced image even though the birds are quite steady in their stand - makes it interesting.
