Description
Listening to the pace in the old city
I can almost dance to the rhythm of the night.
Getting lost between the cracks
Finding peace where the spirits go free
I raise my head to the sky
Inviting the cold night air to shiver my soul
It is now that I feel the power of time
Shaping my tradition into stones
Can you hear me old architect?
Can you see me looking up at you?
Keep your brilliant work designing the veins
Our blood runs through for the longest time
****
Second part to Between The Walls
Between the walls of the old city, Jerusalem.
The shot was taken with a tripod and the sigma 10-20mm

Thought-provoking. It suddenly made me feel very cold, and almost trapped.
And, to echo the above comments, the tone is wonderful

Very nice shot.
Thinking of acquiring a D70 (have D1H)... Any thoughts/comments/experiences you'd like to pass on?

I am always so impressed with the work you do with your Sigma...
Why do you think of changing?

Ummmm... I don't use Sigma (I'm a Nikkor guy myself). You must have me confused with someone else...
However...
I noticed in the stats for your photo "Night Crack" that you use a D70. I was thinking of ditching my D1H body for a D70 and wanted to know what you thought of your's - good and bad. I DO like the D1H, but 2.6Mpix has gotten a little small...
Thanx

I'm sorry...
I did confuse you with someone else beacuse of your avatar. Check up on *aquapell
Sorry...
Between the two you mentiond the D70 seems to be better mainly beacuse of the resulotion issue.
The D70 is a wonderful camera.
It's fast enough, and if you can wait for the D200 and not grab it now, it's recommended.

Thanks much... I see what you mean about the avatar.
I notice you use a lot of very wide angle lenses. Any problems with light fall-off at the edges of the frame? Also, I too do a lot of work in low light situations. how's the noise at high ASA/long exposure time - can't really tell with the small images we post on DA.
As for the d200; at an estimated $1600US it will be more than $500US more than the D70... I'm wondering if the additional 870x590 (about 2 1/2 extra inches of print size) is worth an extra half grand - that's money enough for an extra lens... There are so many rumors as to what the d200 will or won't be that it's a little hard to decide.
Thanks again

The D200 is not just better in size, it's a better camera.
No doubt about it.
Wether it's worth the difference or not, depend on how much do you push it's a abilities.
I think the D70 is good enough up to a high level.
At the point you need a faster, more pro camera, it's time for the D200
The noise on the D70 is minimal.
I'm very pleased with the way it handles long exposure and high ISO
About the wide, of course there is some distortion at 10mm in focus and light, but it's minimal.
I'm also pleased with that.

Thank you very much for the input.
I do, in fact, push my cameras to pretty close to their limits... It's good to know that the d200 is BETTER not just BIGGER than the d70.
Thanks again

The perspective is unique. The texture is defined. The lighting is distinct. And there's something subtle about it as well, but too subtle for me to recognise. This is more than everything that architecture ought to be.

Beautiful work
it's cruel of you to show it when you know I dying for a lens like that. I think I'll buy the Sigma and get it over with.

beautiful.
i love the lighting and how it brings out every detail in the wall textures.
love the lack of burnouts to.. must have been pretty hard to pull of with such a contrast between the dark sky and that lamp on the wall.
excellent stuff

Very interesting. I love the shapes in both of these pictures and I am quite fond of this blue-grey tone. That, with the small light, it makes these pictures very mysterious. Lovely capture.
