I got the idea for the monochromatic background from Stuff Sucks , one of my favorite webcomics.I was also just too lazy to color it.

You weren't lazy! You were making an artistic statement, in this case one of irony, where the world around the women smoking is grey and dead, whilst the women is colourful, and lively.
