As someone who has been broken only nominally (and never in the ways I fear for you) I can only hope you save me a place in the background to worry - my stake in this is you. In the meantime I’ll hide my mother-hen behavior so the discomfort doesn’t reach you till it’s much too late. I ask myself: Would it help if you trusted me? Would it and I ever be enough to save you? ...I suppose. I know I write a lot of sad poems, but I guess it's 'cause I need to work through being sad, or angry, or bitter. If I'm happy I'm content to stay that way, I don't need a poem to make me understand it.

I'm sorta the opposite. Whenever I'm upset I just try and forget about it. I do more happy stuff, I guess. Even though you can't really tell, 'cause they're drawings and not poems.

I like yours better. I just can't seem to do it when it gets right down to it. I think it's why very few poems (with the exception of maybe e. e. cummings) make you happy when you read them.
