Description High school mathematics have been the source of heated controversy for many years. Letters have been written, marches have been marched, and thousands of innocent pies have been thrown. The Canadian Division of the Knowledge, Study and Containment of Numbers (the Canadian Math Division was already the name of a popular gardening group in the United States before we thought of it) is at the forefront of the controversy.
Hubert G. Winkleshins, spokesman, president, vice-president, marketing
director, distributor and janitor of the CDKSCN, defends his department, saying, "We don't make up all the numbers - just the imaginary ones."
Over the years, many complex, multi-sided questions have been posed about secondary schoolΒ mathematics, such as where exactly students can put to use their extensive knowledge of how to multiply binomial radicals if the humidity is less than 60% on alternate Wednesdays. The research department at CDKSCN (Hubert G. Winkleshins) is currently researching the implications of the fact that this question has no discernible answer. Many critics have taken this to mean that high school math is useless in real life. This, says Winkleshins, is blatantly untrue. "There are many real-life jobs that involve the kinds of advanced math dealt with in secondary education, such as high school math teacher, textbook author, and... well, I can't remember the third one off the top of my head, but I'll put my secretary on it."
The secretary, young, up-and-coming desk turtle Delores P. Bleeblebrains III, was unavailable for comment.

oh good. i no longer get as angry in math class now, so i think it helped. every time i start, i just look at the teacher and think, you know what? you just helped me put out a kickass piece of writing that for once in my life i'm actually proud of. so i don't care if your math class is stupid.

my math teacher... he's verrrry boring. i'm looking forward to watching the light bounce off his bald head - it will be much more entertaining than listening to him talk.

yeah, we all looked at each other like wtf? he's way too boring to do something that cool... and he's way too young to so boring. he's only been teaching like 3 years or something like that and already he could put a rock to sleep.
hahahahahhaha purely and honestly. that's like my science teacher. she derives honest joy from balancing chemical equations.

xDDD
I think hilarity is not the appropriate noun in this situation. If one could express the lawl of the century in scientific words, we wouldn't be getting within a mile of the surface of this galaxy of giggles.
I went overly descriptive here. Excuse my lack of funniness after being faced with such a spectacle of laughs. x3
(but yeah, that was just the hah - I adore the names and long list of positions xDD Is this satyrical? It sounds like it somewhat, since the President is pretty much everything else as well, except for secretary, who we can't even be sure exists :0)

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-10-23 23:54:06 +0000 UTC]

This is most definitely satirical... you can decide for yourself what I was making fun of. I'd be interested to see what you come up with. I'm so glad you like it! It's the first time I've ever tried anything like it, so I was a little bit nervous about going overboard.

It was wonderful <333 You did great as always!
Hmm... I dunno, it reminds me a bit of the groups teachers sometimes make in higher-up studies and such (I don't really have any examples off the top of my head x00). I can't really be more precise than that - mostly I adored the irony xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-11-08 02:13:18 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, not quite sure I understand what you mean by that. What kind of groups do teachers make in higher-up studies?

FISHKISS In reply to gimpbeginner [2009-11-08 02:21:24 +0000 UTC]

They're like councils... I dunno, it's not teachers in particular, but I get the impression that university professors participate a lot in them. I need to find the exact term though x00 Sorry!

Oh, I see! Committees, maybe? And yeah, that was basically what I was out to mock - the many levels of blockheaded bureaucracy that create my curriculum.
