Description i am not the girl who stars in the show and smiles at everyone in the audience. i am not the extra who only got in because her mother is the principal. i am not even the girl who does the lighting backstage. i am not even in the drama club. i am the girl who waits in the hallway with a book while you do your auditions and rubs your back when you don’t get in and shrieks and jumps and buys you ice cream when you finally do. i am the girl who worries about you too much and writes about it using insanely mixed-up metaphors. you're not in the drama club either.

being left behind makes me want to laugh at that stupid L’Oréal slogan because if i was worth anything at all i wouldn’t be alone right now.

i tell myself that i’m glad for you(the truth) and that i'm not dying of jealousy of the effortless way you fit (a lie) and that i don’t want anything for myself, just for you to be happy (another lie) and i tell myself that i'm a good friend (probably also a lie).

i cry a lot more than i’ll ever admit.

but i’ll smile happily for you and clean up other people’s messes and deal with other people’s problems and keep other people’s secrets. and all the while i'll quietly wish i was worth enough to have messes and problems and secrets of my own.

HOH REALLEH? x3 I don't think we have an Asian-fail phenomenon, but then I'm not in a school where (or I think) there are a lot of Asians. I know one dude, but that's all. Are there really enough to make a stereotype in your school, or is that general? Haha, we can stay together in our despair for high grades <33

Yes, really. We've had a lot of Asians every school I've been, so whether that's Canada or my city or my neighbourhood (we're right by the university) I don't know. Probably the neighbourhood... but I think it's true that Canada gets a lot more diversity of immigrants than France, or even the United States. We're known for our diversity. Actually, of the cellphone conversations I hear on the bus to school, over fifty percent of them aren't in English, and I haven't heard a French one yet.

And your poem will come soon. I had to find the comment I said that on so I could see what started it, but now it is on its way.

Hmm... yeah, I get it. It must be confusing for you to have conversations in who knows how many languages surrounding you x0 Interesting, though. It makes an incomprehensible mayhem, doesn't it? And I'm surprised you haven't heard French yet, I thought they were common in Canada as well o_o But then that might be a stereotype as well.

Daaw x33 You don't have to, you know - all your compliments are already a poem for me <]]

Weeellll... interesting story, that. It actually has its roots in history class. When the West was being settled, the government was pretty racist/culturist: when Canada was discovered, it was discovered pretty equally by the French and the English. The English won the war over the ruling of the country, but they still had a lot of residual angst with the French.
Now, when the government was recruiting farmers to come settle the land, they only recruited in places they thought would have good future Canadians. Thus, you will find a lot of people in Western Canada with German or Ukranian ancestry, but not a lot of French.

If you don't want to read all that, basically don't believe what you read in the brochures. The only places you'll find any French people in Canada are Québec and sometimes Ontario.

Hmm, those must be the places I've heard of French people, then (cuz I read a book about French people in Canada, soes...). Thanks for clearing all that up, though <33 I didn't know there were a lot of German and Ukranian people there.

Oh yes, tons. They all are Canadian now though. Most immigrants here now are Asian, a lot of Chinese.

Oh yes. It's one of the things Canada's famous for, actually. There are days where I'm the only white person in a given room, to be honest.
