Description
"here be dragons," it said, and they would charge in, armor blazing,
swords drawn,
expectant,
and come back
and tell us that maybe the dragons were shy. well,
maybe
they
were.

Thoughtfully simplistic.
It reminded me slightly of Puff the Magic Dragon. Perhaps then they simply grew up and forgot to believe...

...More like thoughtlessly simplistic. It came out one day in math class and there it was. That's why I asked for interpretations, because I didn't have any of my own.

Perhaps contemplatively simplistic then, because even if you didn't have if a specific intent, it certainly provoked thought in your readers. And ahhh, writing poetry in math class. I've done that many a time.
Interpretation-wise, I like my idea inspired by Puff (perhaps I'm just waxing nostalgic though.) It's sort of how it was their perspective and expectations that made the dragons "invisible" to them. They didn't see what they expected, so they assumed that the dragons were not there rather than pausing to evaluate the merit of their pre-established stereotypes.
How's that?

That's perfect, actually! A wonderful, intelligent-sounding way to say what I was thinking.

Well, it perfectly illustrates the old saying "I'll believe it when I see it".
Mao, it's so wonderful how you can interpret these little prose-poems of yours on so many levels <333

Hmm... I suppose it does! Cool!
Hehe, this one was an exception because it wasn't based on actual experience. Usually I'm not nearly this deep. My little brain can't handle it.

Actually, usually you are - just unconsciously so 8DD Which is the amazing part, because you're awesome without even trying.

haha, maaybe. i just kinda wrote it and thought out what it meant after, so yours is as good as any. my interpretation was that they came in and didn't find anything so they concluded that the dragons didn't exist, but maybe they were just shy.
