Alliah! I feel so sad now. The France trip was supposed to be a lot of fun and yet you seem sad. When you get back we will do something really special. I want to hear all about the trip, too.

Don't feel sad. I just had high expectations, was all. Although I will talk to you about Tim, because you deserve to be warned and you don't deserve to have his unhappiness taken out on you if it goes that way.

I tried to call you already today, but I think you were out. You're right, we need to do something. It's more than two weeks I haven't seen you, because of the play, so we will have to figure something out soon!

I sent the letter before I left, by the way. If it's not there by now Canada Post is even worse than I thought.

Your country is pretty. But I think they have a hate on for tourists, they didn't seem to like us very much, even though we were all very nice. In Canada we get so few tourists coming (after all, we're a singularly boring country, even if I do love it here) that we fall over ourselves to do stuff for them. Especially if they're Americans. It is well known that Canadians have a huge inferiority complex when it comes to other countries.

Well - depends on where you're looking at x0
Ah, that's the French complex, they can't stand strangers (and seem to have an aversion to anything which isn't everyday, at least many of them do). I hope they weren't too nasty with you or your classmates, though 8[
I'd love going to Canada <33 Even if it's boring, it sounds like a wonderful place (and I seriously doubt that you can get bored of a place like that x333). Naah, it's more like... calm. Peaceful an' stuff.
Your counry is pretty as well.

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-04-12 22:11:19 +0000 UTC]

No, they weren't too nasty. They just kind of had an "Eww, foreigners" complex going. It probably didn't help that we all had the same red hoodies, so our teachers could always tell where our group was (we hated those hoodies... got asked more than once if we were "une groupe des petites chaperons rouges")and were teenagers. There was one old guy who followed a group of my classmates through the streets of Dijon yelling at them, but that could happen anywhere.

It's a nice place, in my opinion. It's quite American in a lot of respects (same media) but the underlying culture is a little different. It's true that Canadians say sorry a lot and are freakishly polite. We also have a lot more natural stuff left than Europe. Supposedly we have much the same culture as Australia, for some reason.

That reminds of an SDF in Grenoble... He yells at people a lot as well. He's not too mean, though. Heh, the French and their idiot humour x0

Hmm... yes, it does sound like a nice place, and I believe it is <33
Teehee - why Australia? xD

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-04-13 19:11:30 +0000 UTC]

SDF? I'm pretty sure he was mentally ill, or some such, our guy.

Ummm... well, I could give you all sorts of really complictated reasons. Like: We both have extreme weather (theirs is really hot, ours is really cold) so we both kind of have this acknowledgement that the weather can kill you, that there's stuff bigger than us that we can't control. We have the same identity as the 'little guy' - us, because we're piggybacked on the United States, and them because they're out in the middle of nowhere. We've had the same sort of situation with our aboriginal people - basically sticking them in horrible places so we didn't have to deal with them, so now we feel guilty about it - and we're both relatively new countries.

Wow. That was a lot.

( = Sans Domicile Fixe; a homeless dude) Lots of French people are, sadly. DDDx

Hmmm... I see. Do you think it's true? There does seem to be a big resemblance there... I wouldn't know, I've never been to Australia nor Canada.

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-04-15 02:09:12 +0000 UTC]

I think probably more French people are than Canadians... it's difficult to be SDF in a place where a night outside can kill you during half the year.

I wouldn't know either, I've never been to Australia! It's one of my goals, though, don't worry.

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-04-16 02:14:56 +0000 UTC]

I suppose so. It's so sad, the SDF (I'm gonna start calling them that from now on and screw the strange looks... I love abbreviations!) cycle. I wanted to volunteer at an inner city organization to help with that problem, but my mom said not until I was older. I think she was afraid I'd get raped.

Yes. And I will go take pictures of platypi and send them to you.

And Chaos - don't think badly about yourself. Everybody has bad bits, but you act with the good ones, and that's what makes the difference between a real bitch and yourself (who isn't one).

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-04-25 17:33:02 +0000 UTC]

Not all the time I don't... sometimes I act with the bitchy bits even though I know I'm acting like a terrible person and I know I shouldn't.

Hah, well that's what teenage times are for x33 I don't know you in everyday life, but the slice I see isn't what you call yourself, and that's good enough for anyone at all. I mean, really - it's only sometimes. Plenty of people act with the bitchy bits all the time. They're not fun to be around :0
BUT YOU ARE. So there is your proof for not being a bitch <33 You can make a certificate of bitchlessity with it.

gimpbeginner In reply to FISHKISS [2009-05-03 22:23:08 +0000 UTC]

Mmm. Maybe. It's nice that you think so. I guess I think I'm a bitch because I hear all the awful thoughts I have, and I see every single awful thing I do to every single person every single day, and so I can add it up accurately and nobody else sees everything.

FISHKISS In reply to gimpbeginner [2009-05-04 04:39:03 +0000 UTC]

Hey, don't worry... sometimes mean things just come out, and even if you meant them to, now you're regretting that you did them. If you'd been happy with what you did, that would've been a heck of a lot worse. Really.

No, you aren't - otherwise you'd sit at home and do nothing but stare at your computer all day, never making a single effort to give humanity a healthy push.

So you aren't, because lazy is in comparison to other people, and most humans on the planet are by far more so than you <333333
