Description never having been in love, i cannot tell you what it’s like to have that
                             special someone smile at you.

but i can tell you what it’s like to lean against your mother when you’re tired,

what it’s like to be greeted by your neighbors, who remember where you’re going
to school,

what it’s like to see the beauty in a cold gray october morning.

never having been in love, i know you think i'm afraid of getting hurt: the word in your eyes is coward.

but anyone who lives gets used to pain,
(although i know you’d say i've never really lived)
so that’s not why.

never having been in love, i cannot tell you how it is to see one face each night before sleep,

but i can tell you how it is to see a different one for every day you live.

against your tumble-down, fall-far, sharp-focused love, i give you the glow of a child who has found a secret world,

i give you the laughter of aunts come to visit overnight, discussing politics and youtube over herbal tea with cream,

i give you the simple act of giving.

you wondered why i never fall in love, so here it is:
i will never block out my world to see just the face of

                                                                                       some boy.

This is awesome! I like your point of view and definitely agree with it. And I'm sure that if/when you do find a romantical somebody, it won't be *that* kind of love. The good kind of love makes your world bigger, not smaller. Anyway, you're awesome.

Thanks! I don't know if it's my best poem - I think I should probably change the featureness of it - but I like the sentiment of it.

... It seems the Muses have been running rampant lately.

Mrrm <333 I love how you portray (ohmai, too formal for me, crossout --> show) another kind of love than the vapid white-out most teenagers are obsessed with - but mostly I'm glad you found the words to something not many people realize.
Hey, it might actually open some eyes.

Haha, they have indeed! First me, then Frosteh... now it's your turn! *hinthint*

Hmm, I don't know if it will open any eyes... but now at least now my friends know why I'm so misanthropic.

x33 I'll be trying to get my brain into gear while they stick around, then!

That's still some kind of opening, isn't it? <3

it was written, actually, with you in mind. it's not exclusively written to you (mostly because of what you said later on about not believing in that kind of love), but you're the reason i started it. the title originally had your name in it, truth be told. all those conversations in science class made me want to tell you why.

Interesting pathos running through this one. Love your string of hyphenated adjectives and how "some boy" at the end succinctly summarizes your point about the trivial nature of love for an individual as compared to love for the world and a need to be involved in it.

Lovely job. Keep at it, Chaos-luff.

Haha, you put it in such intelligent terms. I love that about you. Thank you, by the way, for the effusive praise throughout all your comments tonight.

Aww, de rien. You deserve intelligent comments for intelligent poetry, so it was the least I could do.

Why, thank you! It astounds me, with the stuff you put up on here, that you can think anything I write is halfway decent. I will comment on your poem later (read: when I have cudgeled my brain into figuring out how to praise it adequately).

Awww. You've come so far from that budding WCV4 writer I once knew that I can't help but sing your praises sometimes. You keep continuing to grow as a writer with every new poem and that's fantastic to see. *hugs*

Aaah, good old V4. The nostalgia! I tried go to back there, but it's on admin-only mode. Warriors RP is what taught me how to type and (hopefully) how to write. Definitely it taught me how to drag my writing on in order to fit the line quota... now that I'm writing a little bit more seriously, I don't know if that line quota was such a good idea.

But I'm glad you think I'm getting better. It's lovely to have support on the days you think your writing's going down the toilet.
-hugs back-

because. never having been in love, you've never been heartbroken and learned it.
>: but i definately don't want you to feel that.

i don't think it's sad, necessarily... and the heartbroken part is one of the many reasons i don't want it to happen.
