Bule Jawa means Javanese Foreigner
Since Eric was born in an England-Indonesian family, pretty much his appearance somewhat...unique 
Blue eyes, griffin (there's no griffin in here 'w') canine ears and tail, everything is foreign for us! Lots of people still love to stare at him, especially if he goes to canteen like this:
He buys lunch, then randomly boys called him like that XD Yet he just cursed them under his breath
