Okay, I know I said that I'd upload my Kurt Cobain portrait on thursday but I was so busy packing for holiday and shizz that I just didn't have time! So yeah, very very sorry about that and I know that you're all still waiting for some actual art. But gimme a break, I'm a busy person
When I get back from Florida in a couple of weeks then I'll be able to finish Kurt and upload it. In these next couple of months I won't have much in the way of spare time due to exam overload and stuff like that, but I have still got my Gerard Way portrait which I'm working on for my GCSE and then there's a couple of others I'm gonna start on in my spare time.
So this is just a few sketches I was doing on the plane ride over here to entertain myself, badly pieced together i know. But it's just to show that i am still drawing
It was good for me to do these because I've never really properly studied any other facial feature besides the eye, and noses/ears/mouths ect always scare me cause I can never get them right =/

The eye is perfect! Okay, maybe the right side of the pupil and iris are a tiny bit off, but you really have to look closely to see that.
The ears are good too, even if I've never seen an ear where the upper outer bow ends so far away from the part covering the earhole to the front.
Noses, right at the point. Hehe. Maybe some more practice for the right-from-under-view. Upper row, middle nose is GREAT! Good shading!
Lips good too, except for the open mouth with teeth. There is something off perspective. And you should better not draw the lines between the teeth, just hint at them, makes teeth look so... teethy when you got lines.
Overall good results, go on, you can do it!

Oy, I draw tons of eyes. They're in my band book, in every notebook, sketchbook, on sheet music, in my agenda book...yeah, they're everywhere. At least they're not ears! THen thy'd be able to hear me say, "Eh, not my best one." I don't enjoy insulting my drawings, but it happens. Thank heavens they can't read lips.

I always have feeling, that it's easier to draw eyes, ears, noses separately than to draw whole face...

Yeah I completely agree, when i come to drawing them on their own - they look really real! And then I draw them on a whole face all together and it goes back to looking poo >.<

I would write a critique but I worry that I wouldn't be copmrehensive enough so...
Your eyes are, as always, beautiful. I love how much detail you put into facial features as well.
However, I think that the bottom right nose looks a little off. It seems... wonky, for want of a better word. Did you use references or did you draw these off the top of your head?

Oh, hmm yeh I can see what you mean. I think the right side might be a bit too small and raised a bit more than the left, does look a bit wonky though :S. I used references for them all =]

Eyes are most definitely your strong point, they're scarily realistic. I wondering about the refernce thing because the slightly off picture could have just been the reference. (:

and yeh the reference picture is a little offset, but i recon i still didn't draw it completely correct >.<
