Ginger Bread People main source of nutrients is through sweets what we consider dessert they consider a 3 course meal. They Can eat normal food, however it will not serve any nutritional values to them. Its digestible but useless if anything it would make them more tired and sluggish cause their bodies are breaking down this useless material and not getting anything back.
Lactose Intolerance is one of the rares kinds in there genes 1-10 citizens including the Prince himself have issues with Dairy products which in its self is ironic. While its not deadly to them its not a comfortable result once digested.
Sickness
In the gingerbread world their is a sickness in which their body harden as they would in death. This is only treatable is said limb is amputated. If amputated with this sickness rebaktion can not happen because then the same limb would be infected. Why this happen is unanswered but some people just have to live without limbs. This is common in adult and rare in children.
Death- What happens when a gingerbread person dies you ask?
In their the spirit is separated from the body which is now simply a life size cookie. No they don't shrink down into cookies they still look the same. except now their bodied are un-movable. The become hard like cookies and if there limbs are forcefully moved they break like cookie. Instead of body decay which would cause a smell the body over time becomes so delicate that it crumbles. Which means u can tell if their dead unless their bodies don't move. They don't really have flesh so they cant rot. Simply put U_U. Gingerbread people however have rather long life expectancy rates.
They don't harden as soon as they die tho it take about an hour or 2

The basic info u should know is that their british and there kingdom has victorian theme building made of gingerbread if u ever have to describe as far as their hair goes stay away from colors like black brown is accepted cause its like chocolate ^^
