Here me out

This was another idea my brother and I thought of before the villain of Sonic Forces (Infinite) was announced.

First off, in the original, Scourge did not have the Phantom Ruby- he was just regular ole Scourgey.

My brother and I thought of him as a cool possibility for Forces as the main villain- seeing as how he's a dimension hopper and all, he can easily get to the game continuity if he wanted to. Not to mention the last line he said in the comics was; "I've got big plans for both this world [Moebius] and Sonic's!"

And honestly, what's the best way to try and rid of the blue pest on Mobius Prime than to destroy the VERY focal point of any and all Sonic universes?: The Game Continuity. The very universe that started it all. And believe me, I know Scourge is crazy enough to pull a stunt like that.

Also, another idea came into my mind the same day I drew this: There is a lot of speculation from multiple people that the avatar in Forces was originally supposed to be Boom Sonic [speculated by the taller stature, arms that match the fur color, a front mouth, and the addition of the grappling hook which is like Boom Sonic's enerbeam]. So what if Boom Sonic was in the game, and so was Scourge as the main villain? The three main Sonic's from the Game Continuities (Classic, Modern, and Boom) vs the dimension hopping evil Sonic (Scourge).

Plus, it has been CLEARLY stated that a Phantom Ruby can help dimension hop- which leads us to my addition to the Scourge theory. Scourge must have found a Phantom Ruby somewhere and used it to warp to [Modern] Sonic's universe, much like Classic did and (if he was in the game) Boom Sonic would have.

But why would they all go to Modern Sonic's universe? Well, that's because, as I said before, it's the current focal point for the main Sonic series. Scourge seeks to rid of Modern Sonic and seize the focal universe, and the three Sonics want to team up and get rid of him.

Bonus:
Scourge's Phantom Ruby is a special type, it's the shape of a ring which is worn as a bracelet. It can extend to be a chain and can shape shift it's end into a small to medium sized weapon. It also slightly takes over the user's mind [as shown by Scourge's changed iris color].
