Description
you need to know! Well, not ALL but this'll doThis is more of a How-I-Did-This-and-Here's-a-Tutorial-to-Go-with-It kind of drawing, so all of you folks who are like: "GIVE ME YOUR SKILLS" *cough*~TaiyoPrower and ~NeKiriaNe *COUGH* or are having trouble drawing eyes in general, I hope this helps!
Step 1: Eye Shape! This is basic--any eye shape will do. If you're confused.. draw lashes! It doesn't have to be a closed-shape.
Step 2: The Iris! It is important to position the iris in which direction the eye is looking at.
Step 3: Eye Pupil! This is about as important as the position of the Iris. This also, shows what direction the eye is staring it. It just gives a more intense and clearer understanding.
Step 4: Eye Color! You don't HAVE to color in the eye (that depends on your art style), but it gives it diversity. OPTIONAL.
Step 5: SHADING. One of the problems an artist has to face! The most appropriate shading for the eye is the top-half of the iris--which is supposed to be under the eyelashes. Even if your eye doesn't have eyelashes or not, its supposed to represent the eyelash's (or eyelid's) shadow.
Step 6: Unless you're aiming for a "dull" look in your eye, you can skip this step. Because all there is to do add a slightly light color to the unshaded, bottom portion of the eye. DON'T cover the "true" eye color (the color you added in Step 4), just enough to give it detail. I added light flecks (a lighter color than the "shine") because I can.
Step 7: Again, this is completely optional--you just take the color white and highlight the eye (add a circle/sparkle of light). This is just to show that light is reflected off the eye! This is important because if you were to draw someone looking down towards the floor--the eye shouldn't be reflecting light. The point of looking away is to avoid eye contact, so it keeps it "dull" look.
Step 8: (Not shown) I mashed Step 8 into Step 7 because.. I didn't want to make the tutorial any longer or more complicated than it should be.
Note: I did this with the PEN tool in Paint Tool Sai. This method could also work with other brushes, not just pen.

Heh, of course I knew how to make eyes yet, but it is pretty helpful for those who didn't knew it yet. !darkqueenTarja (who isn't here anymore) also shown me how it works when I was about 16 years old. x3

She is way way better in drawing Humans and Anime Art than me. We aren't a couple anymore, but I wish to see her again, just so she can teach me a few more things for drawing.

Sorry for the late reply! For the tutorial examples, I use Pen, which supposed to be the first tool you should see in the box. I sometimes use Brush (which is the 3rd tool in the first row) as a substitute!
