Description
This is a gift for a little boy.Franz-Leopold nearly drowned some time ago.Β For about 20min he was under water.
They were able to reanimate him, but no one had high hopes. His parents and docs made the decision to turn off the machines that kept him alive... and he started to breathe on his own again.
He learned to eat on his own after a while, but is still mentally and physically disabled. No one knows how much he will recover and it's been a long way since then.
In a couple of weeks he will go to school and because of that he is leaving the kindergarden my mother works at. That's why she wanted a special gift for him. An elephant, as he loves them.
Today she gave it to him and she told me that a single tear rolled down his face, as he is still not able to speak yet. A sign of how happy he was about it.
What else can you ask for?

I guess, no idea tbh. My mother gave it to him and since then he has left the kindergarten to go to school already.

I don't know the exact details.
There was some celebration for kids going on and there was a pond at that area. The person who took Franz-Leopold with him,he was a friend of his parents, and his own kid, lost sight of the boy at some point. Just like it sadly happens sometimes if there is too much going on and if there are a lot of people. When they started to search for him, they found him in the water.
20min is what they say, no one really knows for how long he has been under water.

the guy taking care of him got to feel terrible, but I still find highly irresponsable not to check a kid all the time if thats your duty

He did and still does.Β
Even if you check a kid all the time it can happen. One moment is there and the next you can't see it anymore. The time you spent for searching could already be the time they are under water then.
Not so long ago a kid drowned in a pool with the parents standing next to it. They just weren't aware of of what was going on.

How sweet and sad at the same time. What a strong boy he is.
This is a beautiful gift, and so well made. I love the design.
Thank you for sharing such a special story.

He is and i hope he will be fully back one day. According to my mother he was one of those kids who always smiled and was up for mischief all the time
Thank you, too!
